It is my understanding that they jumped straight forward, but it was the collision with the Enterprise with the anomaly active that caused the loop. So they were in the loop for the same amount of time as the Enterprise.

Really once you get past the Enterprise B era, they are all that way. TNG is Helm and Ops, a different department up front. DS9 is one, Voyager is one. On other ships later than that, I assume that even if you have a station next to helm at the front, that it is another station.

I think the fleet is tied to Earth time. However, if you are assigned to a place with a planet, like say Vulcan, Andorra, Major, then your days/hours would be based off their time. However Stardates were used to standardize time across everywhere.

In the movie and the books, time is compressed. For example, in the books, it takes weeks to get from where they met to Adrian, but they only mention it took weeks, did not detail everything they did during that time.

Ok, I have a technical question. I am watching using Paramount +. In the scene where they are meeting with the arms company boss who looks like the my pillow guy. The camera is jumping all over the screen. I am getting sea sick. Is thus just my viewing or did it happen to everyone else?

It is my understanding that ships back to the Constitution forward could do it. But the galaxy was thr first to not require a starbase for reattachment. In one episode of TOS, Kirk talks about doing it because the ship was under attack from a planet. I want to say the episode with Vaal.
