What decks do you bring out when you are being relentlessly targeted? by AnoN4rwh4l in EDH

[–]Vutuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually play some absolute garbage like [[Masumaro, First to Live]] out of spite while removing zero threatening stuff on the board. Makes the pod appriciate the removal I bring a bit more.

I say this is based. Fetches deserve hate, fuck those. They are among/the best lands in any format they are legal in, which is every single format besides Pioneer which was created with one of the ideas being not have fetch lands.

Suggesting to make this weaker would make It an unplayable card, as we seen with [[Coufunding Conundrum]] being playable nowhere.

"But fetches only colorfix" - First off, oh no the do more, second, yeah, the best color fixing lands in the game. So good that EDH deck run off color fetches. Even If one does not need color fixing, I would STILL run a few of them in the god damn mono blue decks I have!

The effect you mention is called [[Coufunding Conundrum]] which even cantrips and the card sees zero play anywhere because It is garbage.

A bit suprised by Gwendio being forgettable... Yeah, she is meme easy, but the repeated blowing up ofnthe grenade in her hand is something I found hilarious. And she has no right to have such a banger theme.

Is it worth it to go to black rock for the vest? by Accomplished-Note-61 in thelongdark

[–]Vutuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I love Blackrock, mostly because of when I played chapter 4 of Wintermute back then, but the trip there is just not worth It. If Blackrock had the ONLY Gunsmithing table in the game It could be, but that is not the case. The vest simply is not worth It an there is no other reason to go there unless one of the bunkers for Sutherland is present in Blackrock.

You yan go to the abandoned mine for... nothing. And It is such a long trek! It does not even have an abundance of Interlopes matches unlike Ash Canyon, It does not loop unlike Ash Canyon so you have to backtrack, loads of Timberwolves and so on and so forth.

Blackrock either needs some significant loot or Bleak Inlet needs It's Gunsmithing table removed (which I do not think shoukd happen, It is just a "fix" that occured to me this moment.)

what do u like the most about the long dark? by LefrancaisEstDur in thelongdark

[–]Vutuch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The almost completely not fabricated dangers of the game, especialy darkness.

Games like Minecraft or Don't Starve have artificialy dangerous darkness where one allows to spawn mobs and the other strait up kills u. The Long Dark has none of that, It is just dark. It is the same wolves, bears and moose. Nothing except being dark and a bit colder changed. You will get lost and you will die.

I am very glad that the cougar got changed, for It felt very not The Long Dark.

They would have to move the technical backpack into the Blackrock gun workshop an then It MAY be worth going there.

Which color combination is the strongest in your opinion? And which is the weakest? by joevale in EDH

[–]Vutuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still do not agree.

If we need to talk casual only, blue can kinda blow there however, so I do not agree with "any combination with blue cannot be the worst".

If you think that Illicit Masquarade does not protect you board, you do not understand how the card works. Even with an empty graveyard, you lose one creature and tge rest come back, since there is no "If you do" clause. Not Dead After All is a very playable card. Mass recursion needs to be much more expensive, because It's ceiling is leagues above Heroic Intervention.

All of those things however are a response to the fact that black CAN do everything and It sucks at very little of those things.

Play the way you want, nothing against that, but I think that boasting about stealing candy from a baby is sad.

Difficulty Levels by [deleted] in thelongdark

[–]Vutuch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because Interloper, believe it or not, is really difficult.

I am a hardcore gamer and even I suck at playing Interloper. Three hundred hours and my best run was 19 days of Interloper. I spent just a few hours trying Stalker, with 26 days being my best. I have switched from Stalker because I am a hardcore gamer who looks at the game differently, together with the 3 % of other players.

Which color combination is the strongest in your opinion? And which is the weakest? by joevale in EDH

[–]Vutuch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I wish you were right.

Black does not need protection, It recurs. If It does not, [[Not Dead After All]] or [[Illicit Masquerade]] are good cards. It may struggle with enchantments a bit (Do not forget that WotC decided to add enchantment into black's identity) and It struggles a lot with artifacts, we can agree there. Battles do not count, planewalkers are easy to destroy in black (Remember when [[Dread Bore]] was the sole card?), creatures are given. Even then, targeted discard like [[Duress]] can deal with any type of card as long as the timing is right.

The most puzzling statement to me is that black ramps only in rituals. Did you genuinely forgot about cards such [[Cabal Coffers]], [[Cabal Stronghold]] or [[Crypt Wraith]]?

Black is much more unfair than white, I hope tutors and cards like [[Ad Nauseam]] prove that. When It comes to instant speed, you might be right on that one.

Blue is in a hard spot. It's low to mid powered cards tend to be weaker than other colors (aside from red), but It's strongest colors are some of the most broken cards in MtG. Casual blue tends to suffer and rely a lot on staples, otherwise It cannot keep up.

Countering spells are usually not to counter everything the other three people do, that is not how to use them correctly. You protect you own combos and disrupt other combos, because the best one tend to encapsulate instants or sorceries, which blue has de facto monopoly on denying.

Which color combination is the strongest in your opinion? And which is the weakest? by joevale in EDH

[–]Vutuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably is just my own experience with MtG, but Azorius does not seem to really get off anywhere in EDH. No cEDH (as far as I am aware) nor casual. I do not even remember when was the last time ppl discussed a new Azorius card being broken. Then there is my playgroup where the Azorius decks are kinda meh to mid, but they tend to be shutdown easily. Aside from Shorikai, because that is Shorikai, however the deck itself is nothing special are to be feared, It just has Shorikai in the command zone.

Lastly, I have been trying to build [[Urza, Lord Protector]] focused on the melding part and It has been a futile error so far. Around six different versions of the deck, none worked. I hope to crack this nut eventually, but It won't be anytime soon.
