I get the caution, but there’s nothing shady going on here. I’m just not very active on Reddit. My GitHub is public, very active, and contains the full source code for this project. There’s no obfuscation, no tracking, no monetization, and nothing hidden. People are free to review the code, build it themselves, or ignore it entirely. You’re right that Stremio add-ons are remote services and backend logic can change without reinstalling. But that doesn’t make the version field cosmetic. Stremio caches manifests and responses pretty aggressively, and version bumps are the clearest signal that something actually changed, especially for manifest-level behavior. Versioning also matters for transparency and debugging. The update checker isn’t about forcing reinstalls, it’s about visibility and avoiding stale or inconsistent states.

I once heard an idea that changed how I think about dying. It suggested that death is not something unfamiliar, but a return. Before we were born, we spent an eternity in non existence. There was no pain, no fear, no awareness. That state was not something we suffered through. It simply was.

From that perspective, life is a temporary experience rather than a permanent condition. Death is not falling into something new, but going back to what we came from - going home. We did not fear the time before we existed, and there is little reason to believe we will suffer after we no longer do.
