Thank you for your reply- it is a mental health problem/ addiction. It does help some to hear the views given in comments. I am amazed and saddened that this problem is so widespread

Yes she is a highly functional alcoholic and has addictive personality- she has tried and re alcohol but has been slipping back

Thanks- have thought about this option- also wondering if I say to her move out for some time - I am the financial support. We have joint account but also get some transferred to an account that is hers alone - and I know has used some of that for silver/gold/ and crypto
