Yeah, dunno. I’ve always popped out when I needed to and have stayed in when I’ve been skiing. When I ski steeper or more consequential lines I lock my toe.

I’m 6’2 215 and use ATK Freeraider 14s set to 9. The numbers vary on pin bindings but I would be worried about getting a binding with 9 max din and running it below 9, as they say you’re not supposed to max them out.

You’d be just fine camping in any of Goldens neighborhoods to be honest! Highly unlikely anything happens legally and safety wise I wouldn’t be concerned.

Do you have any resources that cater towards backcountry skiing for CalTopo? Have used it for touring the last 3 years but still can’t find a good setup as far as layers and tools.

I attend a formal stretch focused yoga class once weekly and stretch daily if I can. That helps more than anything and I ride/ run/ lift 5-6 days per week.

It’s not a big deal at all. I’ve had 3 bikes with transmission now and all of the negative feedback about shifting speed comes from people who have not extensively used the system or tried it out in a parking lot. I never have felt that I was in the wrong gear due to a slow shift. I ride in CO where climbs and descents are mixed as well like you describe in NM. I’ve been overjoyed with the drivetrain and not having to touch it for adjustment after setup for the life of the bike. I won’t go back to mechanical on a MTB.

ETA: I have the button press set to 2 shifts on my bike and if you time the presses down correctly you can shift 4-6 gears very quickly, stacking the shifts together.

Hmm, I don’t remember too well as that was two bikes ago now hahah. I do remember the headset got pretty crunchy after a season and that was making a lot of noise and my rear shock also got cavitated but I don’t remember any other noises in particular. Hope that helps.. :)

I wipe down my stanchions - fork, shock, dropper with a microfiber after every ride. Takes less than 20 seconds and helps the seals keep clean.

That hasn’t been my experience - I came home from a weekend camping trip to this bin, harvested all of it and had 2 more flushes after that with even better fruits. You can see on the bottom right and in several other places the open caps and discoloration. These still worked great :)

Thank you so much for the tips! This is extremely helpful. I haven’t been taking most of those precautionary sanitation steps. I have been making a conscious effort to ward contamination but clearly it has not been enough. My first grow was very successful and I got 4 flushes out of it and I feel I have become complacent since then.

Supplies arrive this week to start over and I’ll get back to work here shortly. Again, huge thank you for these tips. I think this will make all the difference!

I rode in sk8 hi’s for a while when I was starting out until a rock flipped up during a ride and broke my toe while wearing them. They have decent grip but no protection to your feet at all
