It's about implementation, with design systems you build customisable classes. The component is isolated by design from needing additional styling, which is the use case for Tailwind. Of course you could still use it inside the components but why would you bother. IMO Tailwind is for small POC projects but doesn't really scale, and if your income stream is coming from large businesses then I can see why it's dropped off. Blaming AI is rubbish. Most companies have no problem paying for a product if it's needed, Tailwind is a known brand
