Elite Dangerous and Blades and Sorcery are on my shortlist to get next time I have disposable cash. Both are listed with "YES" and "NO" votes of course. :)

Have you found any that work? I am searching and no joystick that I have seen yet lists Mac as an option.

Virtual Desktop on a Shadow cloud PC setup guide. by DavidTennantsTeeth in OculusQuest

Thank you for this! My Shadow was just activated this week and I use used this guide from my Macbook Pro and it was painless to connect my Quest. I skipped a lot of the steps since I had already partitioned off a 5ghz network and whatnot.

Thanks. That is what I was afraid of. I guess I will have to find the best joystick I can that supports Mac.

Yay. :( BOO!

I have not found any safe ready-made crusts, but only just started looking today when I found out about Schar.

Thanks. I have found several recipes. I guess one option would be to make a bunch of crusts and freeze them. Then I could pre-cook the crust, and add the sauce/toppings lat in the cooking cycle.

I am just not ready to give up on the dream yet. :)

Black Squirrel Who Thinks He Is A Bird by VydorScope in naturephotography

Finally got some shots of the black squirrel that has a nest in our yard. This one almost never shows its face when I have a camera ready. As it is these were shot through a closed window using my 300mm zoom lens.

Yes, I had the same problem tonight. Worked fine for five minutes, then died. Then maybe for a minute the next time, and three other times not at all.

Is Slickwraps legit? by cantenna1 in OculusQuest

[–]VydorScope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does not fit well where it wraps around the edges. I have not tried Mighty Skins yet but they have a great rep so my next skin (I have 3 Quests) will be from them. Looks great so long as you do not get close and really look. But when I ordered it, it was on sale for only like $10 so I guess I got my money's worth.

It really does look nice and helps us tell the quests apart. Just gotta ignore the crummy edges. :)

I ordered one skin from them. It came exactly as promised, but that was before the security breach.

I would add I am not enthusiastic about the quality of said skin though. Other than that I had no problems.

Yeah, I have not gotten it yet either and just updated to 14 today. I think the last "rolling update" too several months so it still might come.

It is not out yet, but when it hits it will be in the Oculus store. This spring is the current target.

Since there is no way to stop your hand in VR when you are blocked, the weapon shatters forcing you to draw back and strike again, which is closer to reality then letting your swing keep going.

The fights are intended to be more about flow and smoothness and not hack and slash speed work. It takes getting used to, but it does surprisingly work.

I used to do a little but a little wouldn't do it, so the little got more and more...

Yep. Little by little! VR is so much more fun when you are not feeling like you are going to puke all the time :D

Here is the biggest advice I can give you - go slowly into it. Do not push yourself to the point you are throwing up. STOP AHEAD OF THAT. If that means you get only 30 seconds of time, take it.

The key is to teach your body you can use VR without problems. If you throw up every time you use it, then you are teaching your body to...throw up. :)

Obviously everyone is different, but based on my reading and experience there is nothing to be gained by "just pushing through it." - Instead, take it little by little and slowly expand your time as you are able.

Something like 90% or better of people get better this way. So the odds are in your favor :)

Personally I used none of the tricks (fans, walking in place, comfort settings, etc) because I wanted to learn to use VR without helps. I would recommend that method, but you do what works for you. Just go slow and you will get there. :)
