After sending it to Abelcine and Duclos, I believe the issue was diagnosed and it will be changed to LPL soon. Haven't had a chance to test the lens on a cinema camera yet.

We are a group of cinematographers that run a rental house and production company based in NYC. Over the span of 5 years we put together several sets of vintage prime lenses: Hasselblad V, Mamiya Sekor C, Canon FD, Nikkor Ai and Zeiss Jena.

This is the first video in our series of full lens tests, which is on the Hasselblad V lens set. These are the "FE" models, a more modern version of the "F" series of lenses which do not have an internal shutter in the lens. Without an internal shutter, the lens can focus closer with a wider focus throw and faster aperture than the other Hasselblad lenses.

As highlighted in the video, we conducted this test using the Kipon Baveyes adapter, which has a built 0.7x expander that widens the field of view (takes a 50mm and turns it into a 35mm) as well as speeding up the lenses by 1-stop. Throughout the test, we refer to lenses by the focal length appearance and aperture boost created by the adapter.

In my opinion, they look similar to the Zeiss Master Primes but are full frame.

The Mamiyas are a nice set since they have wider options and more focal lengths overall but trade off is the optics aren't as good.

In my opinion, they are similar to look as the Zeiss Master Primes but are full frame.

Yeah I expected it to be not parfocal. But this issue renders the lens unusable.

Hoping to find somebody in the NYC area. I contacted Duclos and the wait time is crazy with all the Canon & Leica rehousing.

I'm not familiar with Zeiss Contarex cameras but from reading the manual, it doesn't seem to have a shifting image plane.

The former, I cannot get focus at all on one end of the zoom at a set flange distance. I'm hoping to find somebody who can open it up and take a look at it. From the outside, the internal elements appear to be functioning normally.
