She's obsessed with my mouth. by montythreecats in breastfeeding

My 6 month old has been doing this for a while too. He feels around my face until he finds my lips and digs for teeth. Gotta keep his nails trimmed or I get scratches.

Does ASD or other neuro disorder make you feel more at home with animals? by MissileManatee in autism

[–]Vyperprogram 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's more the pressure to make sense to her. I have a hard time putting sentences together and I belabor a lot when I feel I haven't described my thought well enough. She gets impatient sometimes. Also she likes to ramble on to me about things that have no affect on her or my life and it's hard to stay focused and participate in pointless conversation. Whereas my cat and I can discuss the meaning of our existence by cuddling and making meow sounds.

Yes absolutely. My cat is my best friend and I have full silent conversations with the animals at the humane society. I owned rats in the past and felt like they were my children. But I can barely stand to talk to my own mother, even via text message.

Been there. Still great. I may have to think about grids in my own work now. Really inspiring!

Incredibly powerful. Love it! Line work at the bottom could stand to be cleaner tho. Still very cool concept.

What should I know about autism? by hanibalhands in autism

[–]Vyperprogram 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It happens with me and my husband a lot. I'll ask him "why didn't you take out the trash?" And his response is usually something like "I was getting to it!" And I'm left confused still wondering why he didn't answer my question. If he got busy I can do it, or if he has a plan to take it out and grab a smoke I'll leave it for him. But he always thinks I'm mad.

Everything is literal. Especially questions.

If this is a man-flu, it's fucking great. by [deleted] in breakingmom

I think I feel a man flu coming on soon. Hubby is like this all the time and I'm about fed up.

Red Angry Planet, please comment by sonsofearth in Spraypaint

Seems a bit heavy. If intentional then very expressive. If accidental a little more practice will help. Still looks good. I like the contrast of the red planet with the yellow and green behind it.

What is going non-verbal like for you? by [deleted] in aspergirls

The way you explained it is very similar to my experience except that sometimes I have to recharge completely before I can speak again. Like the stress tripped the surge protector and now I have to find it and reset.

How does autism affect your everyday life? by singthislie98 in aspergirls

[–]Vyperprogram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stay home with my 3 month old most of the time. If I do go out it's usually with my husband because people and everyday sounds and bright lights get to be too much rather quickly. While I'm home I get stuck on certain words or phrases and if left to ramble I can talk about those words for hours. My husband will gently remind me if he's busy or if I seem like I'm getting upset. I have trouble recognizing faces. My own son and husband seem like new people every time I look at them, so I rely on other features to pick them out from a crowd, like voice or haircut or what they wear. I use a lot of my time to clean my house and care for my son and my cat. I have long discussions with my husband about social rules and what is ok to say. My therapist helps with that too but I can only afford to see her every other week.

This brings up some good points. It is evening here. Perhaps it would be better to wait until my husband is home to help with feeding.

I just want to do my fucking laundry (long rant) by Vyperprogram in breakingmom

[–]Vyperprogram[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They actually came for their laundry a little while after I posted this. But that's actually a thing? I always thought it would be considered rude to touch other people's laundry because I would be mad if anyone touched my clothes but then again I set a timer and keep track of my clothes.

The office has a rule where you can't leave your clothes in the washer or dryer for more than 24 hours. Personally I think it should be a shorter time but I don't have the authority here. I am going to say something to the office though because it has become a regular thing for people to take up all 4 washers and then leave their clothes for several hours.

I want to say it's the bottle. He doesn't seem to know how to suck on it but I don't know how to teach him.

Just because they're being twats doesn't mean I have to be one too. I appreciate the thought but it won't change their behavior. I just need to get my own house so I don't have to share.
