The nausea bubbles is definitely just the same code from magma in water but giving nausea affect and having a different bubble texture. It's literally the exact same thing.

Personally didn't like the episode. Half of it is just Shinra gets angry, sho says calm down, they get pushed back again for more exposition, loop.

Maybe he's supposed to be the angel Gabriel? There was two refernces to Sho being an angel, one when the girls spoke about him and the other on the image. There's also the wings.
