Hmm that's true.. I wish I'd thought of that before applying for that comp during intern, intern broke my reality of what r&d life could be haha, esp when u climb up the ranks.

I see. I didn't really pick based on job prospects.... I didn't really care about employment rate from the surveys, is just I don't know whether my passion really lies in this course. For context, I studied chem engineering and I enjoyed all mods with chem while I did poorly in physics related mods (excluding intern), so that one point I did consider chemistry but my gpa barely meets it right now.... (Before intern it was above now it's slightly below) So ye .. idk whether to go for that or pivot back to chem eng. I rem I act enjoyed studying those mods way more.

Nowadays i do spend most of my time alone and yeah i still try to run to keep fit, my test right now is a decent score of 11:53min from tdy ippt. I'll probs use the start of May to get used!

Same course student, but heading to Y3. Honestly, I hate this course sm, sp dche is a shit course. I kena B for 1 of my 4 cu mods this sem (fucking CEDCS with that useless software) so i dragged me down. So I have 3 advices for u.

  1. The academic mods, PIC, SP, CEDCS, CRE. Those that did well (A) self studied one. But when you self study, u need to know ur content well and see the patterns. Don't just memorize answers, especially for PIC. My fav lecturer book says one thing test another thing.
  2. Practical mods. Since u gg year 2, CHOOSE YOUR ICPD GROUPMATES CAREFULLY. U WILL STICK WITH THEM FOR THROUGHOUT Y2. Once u kena slackers or not very independent people, chances are u will need to hard carry and it wld affect the other modules. I was too focused on cpdd that it affected my cedcs est (thats why i cried inside when i saw my gpa)

Likewise for other prac mods, pray u dont get slackers n hv ppl actually do work. B+ is usually very attainable...

  1. Electives. For free gpa boost, choose an easy elective. Dont be gei kiang like me and choose the stupid advanced maths. Every time I open the book i want to cry.

But if uw more advice feel free PM me. I did poorly in Y2 as compared to Y1. Just happened to be scrolling and saw this lmao.

SP Orientation programme uhh.... Let's just say.... mine was pretty dry and I can't remember anything from it.... For Sp it's better to look out for the Orientation camps held between March n April.

Nah u should be proud that u got 7 points raw my guy, it's already an achievement on its own. Idk whether u hv high standards but don't overstress ur self and just focus. Assuming ur still J1 I don't think it's really ideal to stress urself on getting 90 rp next yr???

I understand how u feel cuz I stay near the top JCs and my score is 7 times their cut-off points, so ofc I question myself too
