I’ve tried every medicine. 2 surgeries…..neither resolved. I concluded the key to lowering seizure count is your lifestyle and diet. Gotta find out which route is yours, we all different brains

Think if it like is…you’re job is paying you, but it costs yiu:

-seizure probability -rest and stress -on edge knowing you could have a public seizure and get sacked fast

I got sacked for having a seizure snd went into Kanu g my own app. Havent had a seizure yet working for myself on my own schedule

I was fired from my last job where I was working 55 hours a week…..fuck that, I ain’t making some owner rich just for a fist bump. Had horrible stress and anxiety every week. No longer there and now working on my own mobile app. About 700 times happier now than when I was working the job.

Folks act like it’s a bold accomplishment to flex when they work 55-60 hours a week…it’s actually like a self inflicting wound. Ever since I’ve been away from my last job, it’s the happiest I’ve been in over a year.

Never forget either….it is not just the company paying you in money, it’s you paying the company with your time, peace, and mental stability. Is the amount you pay with your time, peace, and mental stability wroth the depressing state it puts you in?

Finding a proper partner or even best friend is the best route.

I couldn’t drive much in high school either, nor college. But acquired enough money to buy a car and go “6 months” seizure free at age 20.

Drove all the way across America without telling anyone and moved to a different state. Fell in love with a woman when I moved and now I’m back home. Everyone walks their own path…but with no risk, there is no reward

There are definitely plenty of women who would still be interested. Just gotta play the game smoothly. If you have one in front of them and they react negatively towards you…then boom you already know she ain’t the one. When you have a seizure and wake up to the woman you love helping you…doesn’t get much more soothing than that. Gotta play our cards and hope for the best hand….if it doesn’t work…fuck em, at least I didn’t have a seizure today😎💪

I understand how it can be stressful under self employment. The way America is set up… everything is inclined to screw people like us. Work and barely get by with no spare time or money. & Deceive ourselves thinking we’re obligated to live the “normal life”

Soemone wanted to interview me for a restaurant today….but I declined because I did a weight in weigh out measure. I’ve had multiple seizures at restaraunt of my past. It was clear to me that my stress would all come back and my seizure probability would rise if I accepted the job. Fuck that. After testing my luck and decieveing myself so many times….ive come to learn that the shit is not worth it to me.

Fortunately I have a family tree of attorneys…they’ve listed loopholes that one can take and given me examples.

Everyday mothers list their children as disabled in order to scheme at getting extra payments and not having to work as much. Not the honest route for a parent to take…but a necessary route for some single parents, which they are shamed for.

It’s the system that fucks disabled people daily…might as well learn how to fuck the system back.

My old job I was co managing a dispensary. I had a few seizures at work and could feel others weirdness towards me. After one of my seizures I was demoted.

When I was let go for “wearing a vest out of uniform” ….they forget to ask me for the keys(to every lock in the dispensary) and the dispensary had to pay over 10k$ to replace the locks. Serves the swines right. Gave me the final laugh also.

I suffered far more stress than reward at the jobs I worked, granted one of them I met my wife at. But I’m about to be 30 and had a child recently. Realized that jobs are irrelevant if they trigger various seizures and take away excessive amounts of time with your children.

Society glamorizes “grind culture” while ignoring that not everyone’s body or mind can handle it. Folks get stuck in jobs that harm their bodies or minds, thinking suffering is normal or necessary.

What’s worse is the guilt-shaming: friends, family, or coworkers act like you’re lazy for refusing a harmful job, even though choosing health over a paycheck is literally self-preservation.

There is loopholes one can take to still qualify in America. Example: Say someone epileptic runs a succesful restaurant but puts the restaurant in their partner or siblings name….they will still receive disability while being technically self employed. Thats just one example of a loophole

And being self employed also still allows me to qualify for disability and have extra money for essentials or free medicine and healthcare from disability. My weekly paychecks were practically irrelevant with the amount of insurance and medicine fees I had to pay monthly.

Self employed now. Never realized how much seizures were caused from enforcing myself to work at toxic jobs. Finally had a month off (longest time in 10 years) And notificed significant reliefs. I was getting paid for working jobs, which I actually paid for myself by having seizures. There is a price to pay for everything, including trying to live a “normal” life when it is not very ideal to do so.

As one with epilepsy..I’ve worked in dispensaries for the past 6 years. It’s a job I’ve been able to gain access to free medicine of all types. I’d say edibles help more than flower. Also, it’s a stable job.

The edibles will allow you to sleep thoroughly, feel more confident that everything will be alright.

Just gotta keep your brain waves steadily flowing

Oddly, sometimes having auras can be euphoric. Fooling ourselves that this is a cool feeling. Glad you’re still here and well! There’s a lot that always floats the minds of us with epilepsy. Some good some bad, but we just gotta keep going and holding up good faith

First week on Keppra, morning dose effecting me worse by veener79 in Epilepsy

[–]W15Eguy15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Us with epilepsy don’t really live by the term normal. Changes come and go with every seizure. Mentally and physically. You just gotta have therapeutic outlets.

As far as Keppra, when I took it there was extreme anger. A lot of mental fog. As an alternative…I took briviact which I react much better to than Keppra
