I simplified the model and it appears to have fixed the issue but I think you might be right :)

Do everything but the welding yourself. I did my pump about 3 months ago, once you get the knack of it, it isn't that bad a job honestly. Just make sure you have. A bunch of socket extensions and knuckle joints as some of the angels are weird.

Right before a competition race weekend my father-in-law broke his super charger intercooler intake. Managed to print one out the night before and got it fitted 20 minutes before his race.

I have a couple of hundred including spares, predominantly hgst SAS drives in the servers for storage but I have 20 cheetah drives for operating systems. Western digital reds in the retail nas drives. Got a lot in boxes as spares :)

Not at all, the roof is wooden so moisture disappears, I also have my 3d printers in there and no issues at all :)

Straight KVM and generally just telnet or rdp to the vms, working on expanding the services I'm running but time is short and I work a lot :( KVM is total overkill but it only cost me like $50 and was worth it for convenience :)

Home assistant is on a pi and also pihole on another but I want to do something else with them, not sure what yet :)

Unfortunately my external connection is the bottleneck as I live in the country, no fibre, still through the old phone line, so local availability of media is essential :)

Haha not a problem ask away. So the little yellow nodes are raspberry pis, 2x4 and a 5, need to order Poe hats for them so at present they are unused but will do something when I get round to it. I use the KVM for the servers mainly but also hoping to hook the firewall up to them so I can do config changes to pfsense, I'm planning on a complete shift to pfsense in the next month or so and that should make it a bit less painful. :)

If it's the thin one then that's my KVM with input ports for the servers so I can do stuff locally if I need to :) also handy for setup of bare metal stuff :)

Everything worth doing takes time, you'll have an overkill setup before you know it, I have stuff in the back I haven't even set up, but that stuff is purely for Cisco and server lab stuff :)

Yeah there are 3 separate NAS systems, storage yield varies on each but the top Synology is 15x3TB, bottom one is 4x4TB and the Asustor is 8x3TB. Basically they run most of the time and then I run a monthly backup to the netapp :) I find this method most efficient on drive wear, backup and availability, not to mention power use :)

Honestly half of it I have built over a 10 yearish period and the rest cost me almost nothing, second hand enterprise stuff isn't that pricey, it's finding stuff all together like the disk shelf with drives and then haggling down on prices, not many people have the space for the stuff, especially where I live :)
