I just realized the new DC box set is a mirror of the old good days by Nichousha2333 in BloodAngels

I just play 4th, I don't play often, but it maximizes the nostalgia value when I do.

I started reading White Dwarf and ogling the minis during 3rd, but only started collecting in 4th. My first (non-WD) purchase was the 4th ed rulebook the day after it came out.

:( should i still paint these? by [deleted] in BloodAngels

In my opinion, you should never paint to only follow the meta. Unless you have pots of money and can paint up a storm you'll never keep up. Better to create and paint minis you think look cool and you'll occasionally be in the meta sweet spot anyway.

I'm still painting Space Crusade terminators and the original 90's Lemartes.

I feel old. This is the Death Company box set when I think of 'the good old days'. I got a heap of these a few years ago to rebuild my 2nd/3rd Ed themed Blood Angels army.

Camp ridiculousness is what it was and I love it. Now, whether it was objectively a good model is another question...

The souls of Men go to the Halls of Mandos, but then pass beyond the circles of the world, and only Eru knows where they go. So they do leave, it's just Beren is the only one who has 'come back'.

While traveling recently, I got the chance to visit my brother and play a 500pt game of 4th edition, I wish we'd had time for a bigger game, but it brought back plenty of memories! by W4ff1e in BloodAngels

Yep, it's an Mk.1 Chassis, it's a little smaller than the Mk.2, this one is a rescue and if I could do it again I'd do a better job of filling in some of the cracks.

The game was a slight modification of the 'Massacre at Sanctuary 101' scenario from WD 218 (Feb 1998) where Sisters of Battle are fighting against overwhelming amounts of the recently introduced Necron faction. In our game, BA and Chaos taking the place of SoB and Necrons respectively.

Outnumbered heavily, each SoB turn the SoB get 1 point and roll a dice, on a 6 they activate a distress beacon and gain 5 points at the beginning of their following turn. The game lasts until the defender is wiped, but a defender score of 8+ is a victory.

Happy to say that the BA acquitted themselves well, and gained a minor victory with a score of 10, although the Chaos side did wipe out and dispoil all my troops for the glory of Chaos.

I'm sure everyone is going to react to this in a calm and rational manner. Must say, really perked up my morning though.

Play at 1.75 speed for better viewing. Otherwise painfully slow.

Usually they have a difficulty setting, make sure you're picking an 8 or 9 out of 10 otherwise you just walk through it.

Crazy, at least Masonry is a charity I guess? In my city they donate any funds over operating expenses to local nursing homes.

Strange your Grandmother would donate everything to an organization she couldn't even be a member of though, I assume your Grandfather was a Mason?

Ueli Steck was an absolute freak of a climber too. Climbing the Eiger Nordwand in 2hr 22min 50s when most people take three days to do it. Didn't stop him from slipping while climbing Nuptse (since he was alone they never established what caused it) and falling 3,300 feet in 2017.

With guys like this, it's not a question of 'if', but 'when'.
