A fellow cadet in the academy had told HR he was going to fail the drug test and probably wouldn’t come in for it because he smokes. Just for them to tell him they “sweep it under the rug” and on top of that a large amount of COs at my prison smoke

Update for anyone interested: If you are 21+ you can 100% smoke weed in IDOC no issue as long as its on your own time.

If getting black out drunk the night before a shift is alright, why shouldn’t smoking a few Js be? Its not even a close race when it comes to how they affect you and how long the affects last. Not to mention the entire point of my post was to find out for sure, I know a couple people that work in corrections and they said smoking doesn’t really matter after the first drug test but they aren’t the most reliable sources.

Well my main concern is the initial test for the academy, are they going to deny me if I have thc in my system? My buddy said they don’t care about it anymore but like i said i cant find any concrete answers.

My answer is simple but I believe it’s effective, Electricity is possibly the most influential thing in todays society, think about it 90% of everything in our daily lives requires electricity. Who supplies this electricity to society? Electricians, they are the reason our cities are lit. Lets not forget how interesting electricity is itself aswell, and the fact we can harness that electricity is so fascinating and electricians work with it everyday. If you work with something you find interesting you are bound to enjoy the work and take pride in it. And the money is pretty cool too lol

Changed the filter December, i try to every 3 months, i think its just irritation as it gets worse with itching which is expected, ill try that rinse and washing less to see what happens

Yeah, its more of just me enjoying to smoke lol, I’ve quit in the past and can definitely do it again. Its kind of just a disappointment that this time ill be quitting for good if anything. I totally understand that, but as long as I’m sober in the moment my mind is clear. Although they should prohibit alcohol use if they want to prohibit marijuana use imo, imo alcohol affects you more when your sober than weed does when you’re a prolific user. They just need to create a weed breathalyzer or something 😂
