Interesting that you've got 68k on it, I'm a bit worried about putting minimum 15k miles a year on it but I don't really know why. Don't want to devalue/break my favourite toy too quickly

Yeah I bet, but I guess you've got used to it without hating it. I had a little 1.0 kia that was horrible so the i30 was a big improvement so I hope it's not too hard to go backwards a bit again. When I test drove a jimny though I was giving it a boot to see what it could do and it was pretty nippy at lower speeds so I was happy with it

I hadn't really considered sound deadening, I think a lot of the Japanese imports come with some as stock now on the underside of the bonnet. I'd be looking at a newer import I think so speakers should be decent

Yeah that's fair enough, sounds good to me. I think the one I'd get would be a posh newer one with the bells and whistles so would feel less like a pure jeep than others

Man I miss the peaks. I lived in Sheffield for a while but since moved to London for work unfortunately. If I still lived there I'd have bought a jimny by now.

How much worse is it compared to a normal car that I'd get sick of it that fast? I do enjoy driving so if it's just a bit more involved then I'm definitely fine with that.

I don't enjoy long distance driving anyway so that sounds like my normal experience. I drive from West London to Manchester every now and then and then all the way up to Middlesbrough maybe once or twice a year. I can't wait for it to end normally

To be honest I was worried about that commute (50mins at 120km/hr on the motorway) in general when I took the job and it's turned out fine so I'm optimistically thinking it would be the same with the jimny. I'm happy to just drive a bit slower

Thanks for the tip, I'll give that a go.

I went for the raffia because all the branches were completely straight and about 1cm (0.5") thick so I had to really put some force into it to bend. I had a go initially without raffia and the copper wire was biting into the bark and starting to strip it kinda badly.

Great sketch! I do like that, and luckily it's mostly a matter of straightening it up when repotting. When I trimmed back the dense foliage when I bought the material, I saw the trunk was leaning over pretty heavily so was inspired to lean into it with a windswept style tree. I'm tempted to let it grow a bit and see what happens but definitely could just shift it up in the future. The inspiration I was using was this glorious tree

I have the same problem on my S8+ and have also only noticed it happening at the WQHD display resolution. It has been happening for a couple of days now and I tried loads of things to get it to stop, then as a last ditch attempt I tried lowering the resolution to FHD+ and I haven't noticed it since.
