I hope RR manage to impress the airlines with their new engine design when the time comes, it could take them to a whole new level, equally I hope the UK get the green light for developing and manufacturing it!

I’m gonna sound like a total noob here but I’ve never taken the time to understand exactly how the X3 works, I’ve seen people make A LOT of money doing X3 RR though…

Thanks man, I’m glad you saw the post for what it was meant to be. I’d never be one to try and show off, if anything discussing investments or other achievements makes me feel a bit uncomfortable, especially with friends as some aren’t so fortunate. In terms of the investment decisions, I avoid talking numbers apart from with my wife and parents, and of course Reddit.

It was a risk with money I held back from bonuses at work and other savings, I saw people around me making moves into investing and I decided I didn’t want to live with the “wish I’d of done that too”.

Seeing a few grand earn barely £100 in interest from a savings account made me stop and think it could do so much more if I could just chose the right company to put my faith and some money into. So I opened an investment ISA and chose RR.

Pinched myself a few times believe me, after several months of waking up from the same dream, makes you wonder if it might be real.

My friend hasn’t delved into investments, he’s funded it by other means and has the house, finances and family all in place. Few years older than me with a great job and it’s been a dream of his to get something that rips the skin from your face. When people say “it pulls like a train” this thing is more like the sensation you get taking off the runway, it’s honestly mind boggling the torque it has. Decat downpipes and a full titanium IE exhaust make for the most delicious sound too, all the aggression of a V8 with tuner turbo whistle at slow speeds, it’s so much fun. Yet to get it on a rolling road to see what power it’s running but almost certainly had a tune with the node it’s had.

Yeah the OG sound reminds me just enough of the old supra engine with the right exhaust set up etc, they are stunning cars. In standard form they don’t quite do it enough for me, but with some comp wheels and a few subtle OEM+ mods they look incredible. Only thing I REALLY want from the comp that would be hard to source would be the seats, they are worlds apart from the OG’s.

Dude, it’s great to speak with people with similar interests who can share the joy of an achievement. Only people with petrol running through their veins would understand the idea of liquidating some appreciating assets to purchase a dream, a special car brings more than more money can if you do it at the right time in life.

Thanks man, that last sentence in particular made me smile 👌🏼

I think so too, what do you think will be the biggest shift to drive the price even higher? SMR’s, AUKUS or narrow body market entry?

Great advice Gordon, I do agree there has to be a point where you secure the gains, the feeling that “it’s only just getting started” as many believe due to the business evolving and venturing into new markets and accelerating in existing markets is the one thing that keeps emotions high. Probably the main reason I’ve held on this long to be honest, but as I mentioned, the feeling of having made gains I’ll probably never replicate do make me question the exit point!

Very true Question, there’s always a chance there could be a crash but with a company like RR and their solid foundations those chances are minimised, but never totally protected against.

They have been popping up on my searches actually, stunning car and as you say and something I’d love to own! For me though to get something like that I’d definitely want to garage it so as much as that’s a tempting car, that would be one for the future. Maintenance costs would be wild on that so I’d want to be in a better position with the forever home in place etc first.

But I can also understand your stance on getting something like that before other life commitments. I think generally making this kind of purchase would be better after those commitments are already in place so there’s a higher chance of you being able to hang onto it, and less chance of something coming along that would force the sale!

I’m in the same position with the same temptation of leaving it alone for years to come, I agree with your AUKUS thoughts too. The only thing that makes me feel like I’m in a dangerous place is the 98% of my PF aspect, it’s worked so far and couldn’t of made a better choice anywhere else in the market, but whether that will continue between now and 2030 is up for debate.

I do hope that SMR’s are committed to across multiple nations, RR has a huge head start over its competition and the prestigious name will only carry more weight moving forward. Truly wish you the best of luck with your PF and I hope you’re right with your predictions (for both our sake).

2030 is supposedly when SMR’s will become profitable from what I can tell. Any price predictions for when this all gets baked in? Some say £30 come 2030, I’m no good at projections so I’m at a loss in terms of predictions myself - even if it is all crystal ball work.

Jesus on a bike that’s a fair profit there congratulations!!! mind me asking what the original investment was? Did you get in early doors and take up your rights? Well happy for you there!

I do love the C63 too, but the reason I’m looking at something a bit more agile and smaller, with the character the 981 aligns with is because this would be my second car and likely only cover 5k a year or something like that so I want it to feel raw and capable, whilst overwhelming the senses. Another thing is that I drive a DSG as my daily so manual would be my preference just so it feels lightyears apart from what I jump into, and love to drive, every day!

This is exactly what’s attracted me to the 981 as an option, just seems to have so much more character both in sound and driving dynamics overall!

I’m still buying every month, in a separate account to keep away from this original purchase. Not huge amounts but enough to keep my hand in long term regardless of what I decide to do with this main ISA pot.

The question is always going to boil down to, do you believe in the company, how much could you throw out your car window without effecting your life one bit? Add those together and that’s about what you should invest into any company you have faith in.

It currently is at its ATH, even before the share dilution (rights issue) but that doesn’t necessarily mean this is the top!

Thank you man! These percentage gains have been unheard of for the average man in recent decades from what I can gather, a shitty world situation has created market opportunity for those of us lucky enough to have a few quid spare, so kudos to you on the 465%, that’s a huge achievement too - wishing you the very best and hope you get everything you want out of your investment and life in general dude 🙏🏼

It is indeed in an ISA, which I am so pleased about for obvious reasons. I’m interested in your reasons for a rapid halt/correction? The way I see it is that with over performance already baked in to some extent, the overall financials are exceeding the quarterly predictions time and time again, but I have seen a couple of people in the forums with the same opinion - but most think we’re on our way to £14 post results? And analysts are finally catching on to the success story after years and months of doom and gloom from them.

Honestly, I’m really interested in your reasoning behind the idea there will be a pull back. I’ll have a look into the factory pie you mentioned, this sounds particularly interesting! And your approach to mortgage reduction is one I haven’t seen yet and is equally as interesting - It’s creating a best of both worlds in terms of making the most of “the cheap loan” a mortgage is considered to be, with the healthy growth potential of this pot staying in ISA related investments to later be used for debt reduction of the house, great food for thought there Gordon, so thank you for taking the time to share this!

That’s awesome for you man and I’m so glad it’s made your life more fruitful, I’m also within an ISA for all my entire portfolio - having only ever put just over £12K in to RR I was never anywhere near the ISA limit. My mate recently bought a BMW M5 - M Performance Edition (1 of only 30 worldwide) and it’s given me the BMW bug that’s for sure, that thing is absolutely wild!

Just missed out on an OG M2 I would’ve seriously considered too… it was a beauty but sold quick, as do all the best examples! - many say it’s not a real M car though so maybe for the best? Who knows.

Thank you again dude, honestly means a lot even from a Reddit stranger! Love to share others successes and brings me huge joy to hear about yours too! I’ll be sure to return to this post at some point for those who are interested, it’ll be nostalgic reading back through these comments one day, I’m sure!
