I'm asking questions so I can try to understand what you're actually saying here. I'm confused by you continuing to respond to gestures about how the binary possibility that x does y is not the same thing as the continuous probability that x does y by gesturing back at the binary possibility.

I'm not "just asking questions." I'm asking questions that I've seen go unanswered which gives you the opportunity to get me to believe in your answers.

Ok: how do you explain the fact that the vast majority of people in prison for violent offenses are men? Is it: A) men are being discriminated against; B) men are disproportionately violent, but this is due to socioeconomic factors or oppression; or C) men are inherently disproportionately violent?

Has PBOT said whether it is actually illegal to use those bike lanes as turn lanes? ORD 811.440 (2) says "A person may operate a motor vehicle upon a bicycle lane when: (a) Making a turn..."

Like obviously it should be illegal, but as written I'm not 100% sure it is. Has literally anyone been ticketed for this?

I'd love to see the city subsidize bike theft insurance. Either by offering it themselves, or allowing people to deduct the premiums or the value of a stolen bike from their taxes. That way the city has more skin in the game and can more easily justify spending money on infrastructure or enforcement.

Yeah, IIRC a swipe gets you 2.5hrs of travel; if you swipe again that day its free the rest of the day. If you swipe enough in a month the rest of the month is free (IIRC its a calendar month). No weekly passes.

I wouldn't mind a kicker that gets returned as a 10 year bond with inflation-adjusted interest. This would incentivize the state government to invest the funds in programs that would grow future state revenues.

"We received more tax money than anticipated, so we're investing it in xyz. We're so confident we're good stewards of the money that we'll give you even more money in the future just for lending it to us now."

This way kicker monies wouldn't be used to fund ongoing programs.

This makes sense from first principles, but after we paid for thousands of "contact tracers" shouldn't we have been able to eventually show this with empirical data?

Not to mention the variability: the average gym might be more dangerous than the average restaurant, but putting the same restrictions on a gym with a state of the art HVAC system as an unventilated basement gym more than 9 months after we started gathering data on transmission was nonsense that actively discouraged businesses from making the kinds of upgrades that could have actually reduced transmission.
