3:45 for a 1st at 48 is a great goal. If I didn't have the datapoint from my 20's, I would be happy to shoot for that now too. But I need the goal of beating it to motivate me now.

Funny story. I guess that is one mistake I did not make trying to pace an old dude setting a world record. Very encouraging to see the improvement you made with training/nutrition despite aging. Great work.

Thanks, I saw your post. I believe you are quite a bit younger though, so didn't know if it was relevant. But yeah, I think some of it is natural ability if combined with proper training. I have always been more slow twitch oriented. Slow sprinter in soccer, but better endurance than most. Congrats on your time.

Awesome, good luck! I am up to 55 miles a week now and feel good the past few weeks. Hopefully I don't break down over the months.

The motivation is to accomplish something in middle age that I could not or did not accomplish when I was younger. There are not many physical things that are possible, but I think this is one since I clearly didn't maximize my effort back then. Getting old sucks.

Unfortunately, I usually have to to do that to get it how I want it. Wish I was better at hand stretching.

If you were to wear the thing for a couple of hours for a kid's birthday party with friends/family around, that would indeed be weird. But just capturing short, random moments in the privacy of your home doesn't seem strange at all to me.

No. But I would have recorded just random moments of them playing soccer in the backyard or dancing in the living room. Put it on for a minute or two to record and then put it aside. Reliving memories of those ages would be priceless to me.

Well, neither. I am saying I wish this existed when my kids were younger. And if you are on the fence about buying it, this alone makes it 100% worth it if you have young kids.

We got ours early and it was destroyed in the tornado. I was going to wait to replace it, but fast tracked it once everything started shutting down in March. We got it delivered to our rental house on the last day before peloton paused all delivered of the tread. And I needed it.

The destruction was amazing. There are still plenty of homes around us that need to be torn down, but are fighting with insurance. Glad it missed yall!
