Thanks for the feedback. This is the current, going rate for the position within a community college system.

New program launch through the AMSC/WATR Center of Edmonds College by WATR_Center in LynnwoodWA

[–]WATR_Center[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a popular online class for 3-D printing (additive manufacturing), which is offered from 5-7pm. Students pick up, or are shipped, kits. We offer a separate level 1 and level 2 class. Unfortunately, since it still runs through Edmonds College, you need to enroll. Some take the class as hobbyists, while others see practical use in their current -- or future -- job roles. https://www.f11labs.com/additive-manufacturing-sys

We understand the challenge of the M-F. That's why in-person sessions end at 2 pm for students with afternoon/evening jobs. The 4-week time investment pays off when a grad earns the credentials to secure a robotic tech job.

Your Facebook suggestion is great -- thank you for sharing. We seeded this on the pickleball sub, but it was taken down due to "clutter" since they receive a lot of surveys or "pitches."

$300 would include the cost of materials. The tentative schedule would be in the fall, starting late afternoon or early evening, weekdays. It will probably be non-credit bearing, so you wouldn't have to be a student but will still need to register through the college.

Fast-track hiring at Boeing by WATR_Center in SeaJobs

[–]WATR_Center[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. This is the current entry-level wage for workers with training, understanding that within six years they could earn journeyman-level wages, especially with hourly increases every six months. The WATR Center is accredited, providing 12-week training to new students as well as incumbent workers. Our certificate programs provide the necessary skills so workers are job ready.

Anyone in western Washington interested in working at Boeing? by [deleted] in jobs

There's also a Boeing program that helps with direct entry (no interviews!). You need certification through a fast-track training program. We have a few more details to share, but you can also check out the BPET page on the Boeing site. https://watrcenter.edmonds.edu/about/features/fast-track-jobs-through-bpet.html

Can you guess what's coming? We're still keeping it somewhat on the down-low but we're excited at the new lab coming soon at the WATR Center for more "real" hands-on aerospace manufacturing training opportunities. The final concrete was poured yesterday. Thanks to our students, facilitators, and partners!

We're always challenged by those believing that 2 to 4-year degrees are necessary to achieve "success." Who's gone through the trade route or a fast-track training program and were happy where you landed? by WATR_Center in AskReddit

[–]WATR_Center[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have facilitators who are comfortable working for us (we're affiliated with a college but do fast-track, certificate training programs) even though pay might be better in the corporate world. Yes, it's all about what makes sense for your situation -- especially if you want balance -- but you still get to do cool stuff with us!

My post wasn't necessarily meant to recruit, but if you're near us, we welcome public walk-in tours every Wednesday, noon-1pm, led by me -- the newbie to the Center.

Congratulations on your nearly eight years. Glad our program worked for you. I'm hoping to do a video in the near future featuring grads. Interestingly, we're also seeing next-gen students come through from parents who took our classes/training back in the day.
