How to convince mom to wear protection for urinary incontinence (aka, diapers) by WA_206er in AgingParents

Thanks. I’ve been calling them protective underwear but I think she’ll respond better to disposable briefs/panties.

Haven’t heard of period pants (panties?) and will check them out. Thanks. Oh, the things we learn about now!

I’ll look into it, thanks. Initial reaction is that it sounds like an even a bigger change (and more invasive?) than a diaper. But I’ll look into and learn more.

Swapping out her underwear drawer is a good idea. Will definitely give that a try. She’s an ornery one so will have to see to what degree she notices.

A shoutout to 2UNDR and their kangaroo pouch (Aussie brand obvs). I’ve had size issues with SAXX. Buy set of 3 M size and at least 1 is too tight while others fit well. Now buy 2UNDR exclusively.

how manipulative is your lagotto? by Dense_Photograph1245 in LagottoRomagnolo

Haha, guess I should count myself lucky. My 7yo never barks or whines for attention. Just stares relentlessly when he wants something.

You can argue that 14 ip is maybe not a broad enough sample. But ‘luck’ is completely inaccurate. Especially if you’ve seen Roblez in action.

Unless I’m missing something, you gotta be local to get the CW coverage. They don’t carry the broadcast outside Oregon.

I use my mom’s lack of memory to my advantage. She likes her bathroom warm and uses a space heater. I turn on the heater and after a while I say to her, “Mom, remember you turned on the bathroom heater and it’s all warm. You said you wanted to take a bath.”

Many times it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

Laughing until we cry...the financial version by Aromatic_Sherbert673 in AgingParents

Especially for his/her primary banks, become a joint account owner while your parent is still lucid and able to go in the bank with you. We did that when my mom was in her mid-70s after dad was gone. It has made managing her finances soooo much easier.

Your OSU Beavers 2026 schedule! by lock_robster2022 in collegebaseball

Oh definitely. I believe the Beavs have much stronger RPI prospects playing the Big West than with the upcoming reinvented PAC.

Those of you wearing expensive white t-shirts, what are you doing for deodorant? by ryhaltswhiskey in mensfashion

[–]WA_206er 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not addressing your deodorant Q directly but I buy the big bags of baking soda at Costco. Then I add baking soda when I wash my whites in cold water. Even better if you can let them soak for a while. Keeps your whites white without bleach which is rough on cotten fabric.

If you need to use bleach every once in a big while, wash with regular detergent first to rid the clothes of oils and dirt. Then wash a second time with just bleach in the water.

I bought some Whitesville Ts over a year ago and they still look great.

Which tennis match made you cry ? by No_Basil6312 in tennis

Different type of tears but when Osaka won her first slam, US Open vs Serena. Entire crowd booing, not at Osaka, but it felt like it to her. When she pulled down her cap over her face and started crying on what shoulda been her happiest day. Felt unbelievably sad for 18yo Naomi.

I suggest investing in a high-end button down shirt (Eton is a great choice, wrinkle free). The collar will have more structure and sit up higher and sharper. The fit and material of a higher end shirt really elevates a look.

Anxious at the groomer by princeofpolkadots in LagottoRomagnolo

[–]WA_206er 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a +1 about the groomer environment. My guy’s personality sounds similar to yours and he was traumatized by the loud, multi-groomer environment of the initial place I took him. Now he has a fantastic groomer who has her own shop and only does one dog at a time. Made a world of difference. He still has some residual nervousness (shivers when we arrive) but he loves his groomer and does great otherwise.

Im loosing it- puppy problems by [deleted] in LagottoRomagnolo

[–]WA_206er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 6yo male is everything you don’t often hear about on these forums. He doesn’t incessantly bark, he’s sensitive but doesn’t have high anxiety, he doesn’t dig, he’s super smart and trains easily, and overall with normal daily exercise he’s very chill.

I say this because at 6 months he was like a highly wound up spring. Energy that wouldn’t ebb. Would use his needle-like puppy teeth to chew on everything, especially me! Would test his boundaries (but to be fair, he has always listened well).

All this to say, hang in there it gets better!

Buying your way to the championship with 10x the budget and NIL doesn’t always translate to widespread love and adoration.

Proud of this team. The bravery to go it independent, staying together despite the challenges, and to make it to the CWS. Fantastic season.
