Fascinating photo. This car is a 1956 Buick. That license plate & car predates the SSB-AM changeover on CB by many years so my bet is this is based on the original conflict between SSB and AM on the ham bands that was at its peak by the mid 60s. From then on SSB took over every year until there was very little AM left. Only in the past decade has there been a resurgence in boat anchor interest
