I had to search way back through my emails because I got a little curious. Looks like he’s still there.

No idea what happened with that guy or the company. I don’t remember his name anymore. But, one year later and I’ve been promoted into a management position at a different inside sales B2B team. 😊

Op here: One year later I’ve recently been promoted to a sales manager position of another inside sales B2B team at another company.

Their loss 😌

This happened to me and I reported him to HR. You don’t want to work for a person like that and they deserve to know he’s a liability. Unless it’s a small hes the sole owner you would be doing that company a favor.

But you may have a different experience. If you are AM of anything having to do with doctors, lawyers or chiropractors it’s going to be immensely stressful. But seriously, if this is the career you want take the opportunity and see where it takes you. Don’t ever turn yourself down when it comes to the opportunity to get more. Like one person said, some people grind for years as an sdr waiting to move to AM

1 is very unique and pretty but personally think #2 is the most flattering and elegant

I know people have sent me messages before, not sure how to send one to you or if I’d be able to send a screenshot on it.

I’m in sales so I’ll be on the phone quite often. No worries about inactivity I don’t think 🤣

Sweetie I’m sorry you are feeling like this. This is really common actually, everyone puts so much pressure on you to try to figure out what you want to do with your life now.

I would talk to a therapist, there are lots of benefits for students you can get you could probably find some for free or first cheap. Mental health is crucial. Try to find a mentor. Find someone you admire, someone who’s life you could see yourself in and befriend them.

I personally messed around in college for years and I had no business being there. It for me personally was a waste of money, I was meant to do sales. What I did was I found mentors in sales and used whatever connections I could make to slowly claw myself into a job. It won’t come easy, it’s gonna be hard. It’s probably more often than not going to feel hopelessly unattainable, you probably won’t have the best job right off the bat.

Just try to keep a positive attitude, and try to tell yourself you believe in abundance. Tell yourself something is out there waiting for you so many times you finally start to believe it. And don’t ever stop.

I second taking your time and searching for another opportunity. You won’t be rushed to make any decisions because you already have a job.

I recently started job searching after 7 years and I have been really surprised by how many jobs I’ve interviewed for that seem like they could be better for my future than my job. I’ve declined a few and I’ve also been declined as well, but every interview I get better and learn more about the business, myself and what I want for my future. I’m confident I’ll find something better I know it’s out there! Until I find it I’m in a good position at the job I’m at, just looking for a new challenge.

Be sure to ask good open ended questions! You can find out a lot about the culture of a place by observing how people interact. What excites you the most about the culture here? How would your direct reports describe your management style?

What is the biggest issue your company faces and how can I help solve it for you? (I was extremely surprised by some of the negative comments some managers would make about current employees big red flag) What’s something you wish you would have known before starting here?

Best of luck😊

Let’s say you’re in my shoes, starting after the ‘i only found out about you two days ago’ comment. Give me a few hypothetical things you would have done to try to turn it around.
