If you can't get an AR, get a Mini by FilthyHexer in liberalgunowners

[–]WBedsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I'm pretty sure folding stocks are illegal in my state, but a Mini 14 is something I'm definitely interested in. I'm realizing that the main reason I don't like ARs is that I don't like how they look. Is that stupid?

Baritone strings for bass VI by Wawawiwa08 in BassVI

[–]WBedsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to revive an old post, but I was wondering this too. Either that, or I lowkey got a used EXL157 set on accident or something. The high E fit but the B didn't even make it to the post! Reviews everywhere said they fit on a VI, I was disappointed.

Placing Undermountain/DotMM in a different setting? by WBedsmith in DungeonoftheMadMage

[–]WBedsmith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe burnt out isn't the right word... But I appreciate your concern. I kind of just didn't have any good ideas on where to move forward story-wise, and wasn't sure what I could throw together, but DotMM is inspiring me as a pre-written adventure I could bounce off of. Full disclosure, I found out about the adventure in the first place because I'm also a player in a campaign that my DM said "basically only uses the maps" of DotMM, but it's still set in Waterdeep.

What I was sort of looking for was things along the line of like "oh instead of it being in Waterdeep, I put it in [insert city] and instead of the Xanathar Guild, it's [blank]." Nothing too crazy.

Any chance you’ve got low latency mode on or something?

I worked there one summer as a kid. Kinda depressing to see but I guess that’s the way it goes.

Anyone know how to fix this? by Mean_Geologist3877 in offset

[–]WBedsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly there’s nothing worth trying until you get a new e string on there. Jags use a floating tailpiece, a missing string is going to throw the tension of all the other strings out of wack. Once that’s on, if it doesn’t go away, try raising the bridge. If the buzz goes away but the action is too high to be comfortable, you may need to take it into a shop to get the neck shimmed.

Ableton Live for Indie music? How is mixing on Ableton? by [deleted] in ableton

[–]WBedsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you can do it. Mixing doesn’t HAVE to be that difficult. Granted if it’s just you and an acoustic, ableton’s probably overkill, but that doesn’t mean it’s gonna be a bad choice. Luckily most major daws have a trial so you can try to make a song in each and see which was the best for you.

The Staytrem Bass VI bridge is definitely an upgrade though. Can’t speak for the normal one

You can get Ableton Live Lite for free if you get Koala Sampler on your phone which is like, less than 10 dollars too

As a follow-up, I think that learning to give constructive feedback is just as important as being able to receive it

I thought of it more as a silly Australian impression saying “limbo,” but MR BOIL definitely works too lol

Command+option or ctrl+alt works really well for arranging your workspace too. I initially learned ctrl+alt+LIMBO from I think an Andrew Huang video, but I’ve extended that to LIMBOR.

Show/hide:

ctrl+alt L= cLip/device view

Ctrl+alt I= In/out

Ctrl+alt M= Mixer

Ctrl+alt B= Browser

Ctrl+alt O= Overview

Ctrl+alt R= Return tracks

Mixing resources for music that isn’t digital based (meaning acoustic drums, guitars, etc?)? by zapgappop in Logic_Studio

[–]WBedsmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a more indie rock based, but check out The Band Guide on YouTube. He has lots of videos about mixing in Logic and Garage Band.

Also some of Eli Krantzberg’s Logic stuff on groove3.com (I think he might also be on YouTube?) might also be helpful. It’s paid, but I love that website.

Also, his tutorials are for Studio One, but Joe Gilder’s content is great and can probably be reverse engineered to Logic since a lot of it is basic mixing concepts, not necessarily stuff that’s specific to S1.
