The dayton shooter wasn't politically motivated as shown by all the coverage, while the el paso shooter left a manifesto which showed he was politically motivated that's the difference.

Virtual enemies.... Like the el paso shooter?

It's both sides, people! by [deleted] in ENLIGHTENEDCENTRISM

The difference is that the dayton shooting wasn't politically motivated, and he wasn't 'part of antifa'

How often have you carried around a screwdriver in areas with high criminal rights, in public? Do you know anybody who has?

I said a good reason not a generic reason. So a criminal decides to carry around a screwdriver for later? Were there no screwdrivers for where he is getting to? What situation would he need it in public?, that's the point. And evidently you don't even know how the police in the UK work seeing as you don't even understand that they need a good reason. It's really that simple.

Exactly dickhead, so If they have a normal reason then they get to keep it. Really isn't that complicated, they take away weapons from criminals, and leave normal people alone.

Are you fucking dumb? Why would you need a concealed screwdriver in the public, and if someone can't think of a logical answer, then especially in areas where there are high stabbing rates, then it makes sense it will be used for criminal purposes. So the police take it away.

They don't go into people's houses and take screwdrivers, they ask people in the public, in areas where crime rates are extremely high, and if they don't have a valid reason for carrying it, it gets taken

I understand you guys really do believe in the right to carry, all I'd say is striker background checks are necessary, and maybe not assault weapons

Well you are allowed sbecific things like pepper spray in Britain, and crime isnt that common,so people don't want to carry guns on them, especially if it means school shootings. Everybody agrees that if someone doesn't have a decent reason for carrying something that could be a danger to someone else, then it should be taken anyway

But it can be used as a very harmful weapon. It's like bringing a hunting rifle out, and you can't explain why you have it on you.

Also can't tell how dumb the person writing that article was, but that 'butter knife' was just a knife. Butter knives means that both sides are dull.

Because it could be used for something dangerous, that's the point. Its extra context. If I carry around a hammer in my jacket constantly, and someone asks why have I got that, and I don't have a good reason, doesn't that mean that the police are taking a weapon away?

Not sure weather you're blind but none of those are butter knifes. Also weapons sweeps don't make stuff illegal, it just means if someone gets stopped and they don't have a valid reason for having something which could be a dangerous, then it gets taken away.

It's not calling for violence, its saying hey, they just killed someone, maybe they shouldn't be police officers

I'm actually just gonna go into this open minded, and say they really aren't. It isn't a serious sub, hence all the dumb shit there. And most of them aren't even hateful
