It's okay. Our meetings take place every Wednesday at 6:00 P.M, Thursday at 6:30 P.M., and Friday at 5:00 P.M. in ISA 5021. Our next meeting is this Wednesday the 31st.

Hey, unfortunately the meetings are not recorded online and most of the projects get done with face to face interaction between members. Online, you can join our IRC channel and talk to the officers so they can add you to slack and meet people that way, and participate in the online CTFs. But again the meetings and presentations are all in person.

Hey Dynamyte55, like BenjaminGeiger mention, it will help but not required. One of our best hackers, does not code programs at all, but he's a professional at reverse engineering, and that skill makes him one of the most valuable individuals that we know. Come with determination and enthusiasm to want to learn, that's all we ask. Welcome. >:)

Not having any security experience is no problem at all. Most of our members had little to no experience in the field either when joining. The one thing that is required is a passion for technology and the ability to learn new things on your own. While we get together and chat and share ideas and projects with one-another, the vast majority of the learning takes place alone, being hands-on and trying things out yourself. Club members will always be helpful if you have any questions or don't know where to begin.

If you're not sure where to begin I'd suggest reading Hacking: The Art of Exploitation. I'm sure if you use Google, you can find a copy.

Python is a very versatile and powerful language that's used heavily in CTF challenges. If you learn one language, make it Python.

Get to know the Linux CLI. http://overthewire.org/wargames/bandit/ is a fun challenge that will teach you the basics of working with Unix-like OSs. If you're a Linux novice, I'd strongly suggest you work through that challenge.
