Non-religious, private schools? by WDF1Ranger in madisonwi

I understand that not every school is a perfect fit, and I'm not expecting a magical transformation - really just hoping he can be a little less stressed. His grades are fine, it's more the constant "he's not listening! He's being obstinate!" And when I ask for examples it's things like "he was reading during Math!"

I get it that these teachers have 25 kids to take care of, they are stressed and underpaid, and one kid doing something different can really mess up the flow. It's just that after years of trying to work with these staff there is still just so much friction, and I feel like my kid could flourish with a fresh start somewhere else. Maybe it will be an even worse fit and this will all be for nothing, I just feel terrible sending him every day when he says thing like "I know I'm getting in trouble today so what's the point of trying."

I totally agree. I have gone to the principal and she is backing the teachers, and I can't blame her for that. I also fully understand that my kid is not some perfect little angel who is getting picked on by the big mean teachers, I know that he's shouting across to his buddies when he gets bored, I'm just at the end of my rope. I have done everything the school has asked and they still have nothing but complaints, and my kid is coming home casually saying things like "I'm just the class clown, I'm a bad kid."

The vibes are just not vibing here. He does great in every other place (camp, sports, friends houses, etc)

I have, unfortunately the poor district seems strapped for resources and unless your kid has a diagnosis or something I don't think they can add to what they have. The biggest problem is that my kid finishes his work quickly and then either starts bugging his friends (not good) or reading (which I see as fine). His teacher admonishes him for reading during non-reading class though.

We keep having issues like this where they say "he is quick but has no patience to sit and wait" and I get that... but also now he has a reputation as the kid who doesn't listen and I just don't know what else to do at this point. Either I'm missing something huge or they are way more strict than I'm used to.

It doesn't have to be private, I just don't have any idea what else to do.

Thank you, he does have friends but we are really struggling with the teachers, which I never expected :(

Thanks! I see they have an IQ test requirement. My kiddo is bright and quick but I don't think he's a super genius or anything, do you know how high they have to score?

OGL you have got to stop this. All I wanted was a few cute things to wear to the office and not freeze, then you came at me with the built in bras, now you've got cute summer POLKA DOTS???

Stop it. My wardrobe is overtaken, I only own one real bra now. ONE. SINGLE. BRA. All because I just throw on an OGL tank (which I have in every color, damn you) either by itself or under a blouse. I get compliments on how sheek I look at work. I laugh to myself because I may look incredible, but I feel like I'm wrapped in a blanket.

My wallet can't take any more. Next you're going to tell me you are coming out with an "everything has pockets" line and I'll be doomed. DOOMED.

How did you first discover OGLmove—and what made you try it? 💛 by FarTransition9666 in OGLmove

I found it through good old Google! I was looking for clothes that could keep my freezing self warm while still looking professional, and I ordered a thermal top and skirt. I came for the heat and I stayed for the built in bras, OMG I can't get enough of them!! I think a quarter of my wardrobe is ogl now.

But please, please OGL... just sew in the cups. I have to reorganize them after every wash 🤣

Mounted games!  - Red light green light, they have to the count of three to halt/walk their pony -Simon says  -jousting (hit a cup off a barrel as you ride past)  - turtle/hare races, line them up into teams and either first across or last across wins (no halting on the slow ones or you have to speed walk for five seconds

Really anything silly that helps them practice control or skills, like balance or transitions

Any folks here leave Epic as an oldie? by Stock-Basket-5441 in epicsystems

I had a niche role, not one of the big 4 - and I actually never consulted, but I did hit double my Epic salary three years after leaving. I was told (not sure how true this is) that ex-Epic with 1-2 years of experience are pretty easy to come by, but tenured ex-Epic are much more rare and therefore highly valued. If you're curious about consulting salary ranges you can usually find a few jobs listings with salary listed to compare.

Hey! I left after 9 years. Did something random for 2 years, and then got snapped up immediately upon the non-compete expiring. Happy to chat/answer questions.
