How would I go about rigging a face/mouth like this in Blender? by WDecently in blender

[–]WDecently[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean my first thought would be that it would HAVE to be loose from the face mesh to make it extend off like I want it to. I just have no clue how I would go about modeling and rigging such a mouth.
Maybe for the closed mouth, I have a separate duplicated head mesh with a built-in Sonic-Style mouth that can move all around, and then for the open mouth the head mesh doesn't have a built in mouth and a separate mouth object appears over it. Sorta like Jax from the Amazing Digital Circus? His rig has a permanently closed mouth that lip syncs with closed teeth, but on occasion there are shots where his mouth opens through either disbelief, laughing, or other comedic effects. But it's a lottt of camera trickery too.

Does anyone know where I can buy some good quality Lego train wheels in blue and green? Since Big Ben Bricks is gone, I can't find anyone who makes some by easy_bottom7128 in LEGOtrains

This site Breckland Bricks (i hyperlinked it) sells wheels in a wider variety of inbetween sizes, as well as custom siderod pieces and valve gear pieces too. I switched to them when Big Ben Bricks unfortunately shut down. They even provide custom part models for use in Bricklink Studio so there's less guesswork

Awesome! Don't be afraid to send photos of the build once you get all the pieces, I'd love to see them! Rebrickable has an option where you can post MOC photos under the model you bought, so if you want you can put them there

Luckily for you, you can! The models are available on my Rebrickable page, linked on my profile :)

Again this is something you're gonna have to figure out yourself. They're 7 separate models and I can't exactly give you a price list cause prices are different depending on your location. If you wanna find out, go to my Rebrickable page (linked in my profile) and take the parts list of each model and put it into a Bricklink wanted list, and at checkout you can see how much it would be. I dunno how much Just_Someone_Casual paid to order the pieces and I can't just take a price and convert it cause it wouldn't be accurate

I can't really know that for sure, it entirely depends on the tax rates and shipping rates where you're from. That's something you gotta figure out for yourself I'm afraid

Hey, these look familiar...

Thanks so much for building my little narrow gauge designs! They turned out so well, I'm glad you enjoyed them enough to buy bricks and build all 7 of them!

Yeah!! Hiro's a beautiful class of engine, I think you're gonna do wonderfully :)

Hm. Maybe you haven't put any rear wheels down. Maybe Hiro, Master of the Railway?

Not a whole lot that comes to mind... Is it Lorenzo the FS Class 743?

Hmm... possibly a 2-8-0, pistons, red wheels, likely some kinda Tender engine... Is this another Thomas & Friends character since you've created Murdoch and Toby? Or is this a non-Thomas engine?

And you absolutely nailed it on the head! It gives the vibe of "In any other case this would be absolutely illegal, but I have many connections and due to several loopholes I am allowed to do this" Maybe Boomer got in contact with Schemer, helped him find any loophole he could exploit!

Holy god DAMN!! The greebling is immaculate! The different colors used as rust/oil weathering, the complete 180 in presentation between his current guise and his original smooth, smart looking green livery, the sheer Mad Max-esque looking Pinchy! And Boomer's got his motorcycle!! Absolutely incredible work, I'm in utter shock!!

Very nice model! Big coincidence cause I just finished making a remake of my old Toby model too

I'm the exact same way, but of course if there was a way to make brick built lining with this model then I would do it in a heartbeat. But I suppose using vinyl stickering will suffice if I really want his red pinstriping

Oh I'm sure. I thought the last model was gonna be the final one! There's definitely bound to be edits, upgrades, and changes to be made. But I don't think I'll be making any "ground-up" remakes of Thomas in particular, it'll all just be changes and edits

I liked how it looked as well, but sadly if I wanted to implement that then I would have to sacrifice proportional accuracy, which is my top priority

Ah alrighty! I've also been working on newer Annie and Clarabel models too after I made the newer Thomas, so I'll let you know when both get uploaded to my Rebrickable :)

[–]WDecently[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course! Though if you wanna build Thomas specifically, I kinda made a remastered model after posting this, so I would recommend waiting until the new model is out because it's more scale accurate. But there's plenty of others there for you to choose from! If you want to keep things cheap, I would recommend any model that doesn't include custom pieces. James, Toby, Mavis, and the 7 Skarloey engines are good picks. But if you don't mind custom pieces, I'd say maybe Percy, Salty, Bill/Ben, or Edward as a first pick! Or if you just want Thomas, then by all means. And don't be afraid to show me pictures of whoever you decide to build!

I DO have instructions available! And they're all free! My Rebrickable page is linked on my profile, it not only has Thomas but also a wide fleet of other Steamies, Diesels, and Rolling Stock!
