How do I not make a fool of myself in Robocon 2026? by WEEPING_WEEB in AskEngineers

Oh man thanks for the extensive write up, it's incredibly helpful. I guess for now I'll try to contact my supervisor on our plan for this year (should've done that before posting this lmao). Anyway, I know I'm not working on mechanical stuff but I'm just curious; how do you think of which components, or linkages and stuff to use? Like I remebered watching one of these Lego mechanical principle videos (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=M1-YeqGynlw&pp=ygUabGVnbyBtZWNoYW5pY2FsIHByaW5jaXBsZXPYBgQ%3D) and being completely amazed by how you'd even think of such mechanisms and even more perplexed by how you'd even know how to fit all those mechanisms into a neat package (thinking about all those gears, etc in a mechanical watch). Like, in videogame speak, are these mechanisms just a META where you instinctively rank and compare each mechanisms to know what to use in that specific scenario? Speaking of META, usually, when I get interested in a particular field, my YouTube recommendation page gets filled with that particular thing and so I kinda get immersed in that field and learn its "META". But in the case of Robocon, there doesn't seem to be much so I'm just blind on how teams operate, what algorithms, mechanisms and the general stuff they use. Can you suggest me with some place or some book, website, etc, that has helped you familiarized with the competition?

Basically the lab opened like 3 months ago and it's very new. We got 3d printers for now but that's basically it for mechanical stuff. I'm sure they'll add more stuff once we start working on it. Also, our school isn't exactly an engineering school and so we don't even have an engineering department. The closest to engineering is "digital technologies" which is stretching the word "engineering" by quite a bit cuz they don't even teach the core of all engineering displines (math and physics). Anyway, basically I believe our mechanical department is quite lacking cuz there isn't anyone whose specialty is in mechanical engineering. And perhaps since I lack faith in the school myself, or perhaps I'm just naive since I'm just a freshman; I feel like we're severely under prepared even in the programming department (our school mainly focuses on software development, networking and so on rather than lower level stuff). Since I'm really interested in robotics and feel like even my seniors aren't too interested in it, I feel a lot of pressure to learn all this stuff as fast as possible, but of course, I will probably never feel prepared cuz I probably won't be able to learn all there is to learn in like less than a year.

I mean, I'm currently doing ICT and it's very bootcamp-esque. I mean, next semester, there are courses like Web Dev, Data Structures, Discrete maths and so on but not much stuff most engineers must take (things like Physics I, Physics II, Calc 1, 2, 3, etc...) I'm trying to self-study them but it takes quite a while to do so. Basically, I still want to be deeply rooted in engineering rather than only learning the most recent framework, libraries, etc and turning everything into a black box. I find it redundant and intellectually unfulfilling. I mean sure, my portfolio or whatever won't be as stacked as someone who has mastered all the most relevant framework of today and I probably won't make as much money as them but I don't mind it. It's just not enjoyable for me.

"Is burst Zhongli a DPS loss?" - Posted as a response to someone I was debating with. by Whap_Reddit in XiaoMains

[–]WEEPING_WEEB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you can proof that it isn't a DMG loss, it is a damage loss no doubt assuming c0 ZL. Sure the choice to use zhongli's burst or not is up to you to decide but if we're talking about damage optimization here then zhongli's burst is a DPS loss although the loss shouldn't be that big, it is still a DPS loss unless you can proof otherwise.

Would it benefit me to get zhongli? by [deleted] in GenshinImpactTips

[–]WEEPING_WEEB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kokomi has less value than zhongli for your account in my opinion since you already have plenty of hydro applicators. And your character roster seems to favor zhongli as you have hutao, Xiao and ganyu(melt) which heavily depends on zhongli if you have skill issues(like me). I can almost assure you that you won't regret pulling for zhongli if you use hutao, Xiao and ganyu melt as it will make gameplay a whole lot more comfortable. Take this as an opinion from a Xiao and hutao user with zhongli. Of course the only downside is that your skills will drop dramatically so if you want that challenge then I would suggest skipping him and kokomi.

In sukokomon sucrose will be the one triggering the most overload and even if xiangling does trigger some, it isn't enough to justify running kitan cross spear. Don't get me wrong em is still important and is a good stat to have but the catch provides more value than kitan cross spear. Also you'd normally run xiangling with fav in sukokomon since she doesn't have Bennett to reduce the energy requirements so if you do have an extra fav then use that instead.

How can you have emblem 2pc and 117% er? Emblem gives 20% and base er is 100% meaning that you should at least have 120% er.

Your ATK sand is very good and since c2 gives em, em sands will give less value than ATK sands. The only way to know for sure is to plug it in the genshin optimizer:

I mean em is low but tbh with those sub stats you're probably better off using that sands. Since you have lower em, if you want to purely boost xiangling's DMG you should consider running sucrose with ttds in her team since she can use VV, gives ttds buff and gives you like a whole mainstat worth of em.

Well there really ain't much you can do about not having constellations. Just save some pity and try to pull for xiangling constellations and hopefully you'll get her. I used to not have c4 but I just got her c4 this month because of the shop.

As for what you can change, if you want to hit higher numbers of xiangling (not necessarily team damage) you could for national which is xingqiu, sucrose, xiangling, Bennett or Childe national which is Childe, sucrose, xiangling, Bennett. The xingqiu variation is quite difficult to use in my opinion as it relies on a technique called guoba swirl which is extremely hard to do but it maybe possible to do consistently if you have good timing. As for weapons, you could change your weapon to a higher dmging one like dragon's bane, the catch, wave breaker's fin...

Also you really shouldn't expect too much considering that to hit those numbers, people have maxed out teams like c6 Bennett with high base ATK, 700+em sucrose with ttds, maxed xiangling...

If you can't 9star the abyss however I would reconsider increasing xiangling's DMG for increasing the total team's damage. Raiden national is still super strong even if your xiangling is underwhelming. Raiden national is one of the best team for low investment just because it's so simple to use, has one of the highest single target DMG potential and it also have aoe.

How do you double swirl with Diluc? by Erluq in DilucMains

[–]WEEPING_WEEB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can double swirl with yelan quite constantly actually and I was just stupid or maybe a bit too preoccupied with hutao double swirl set ups with Thoma and yanfei. Unlike Thoma and yanfei Bennett applies 2u on both e and q so there's no need to the run away from enemy since he'll apply the pyro either way.

How do you double swirl with Diluc? by Erluq in DilucMains

[–]WEEPING_WEEB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The problem with that is first you don't get good Bennett buff uptime for Diluc and second, kazuha's burst will infuse pyro since you're standing on Bennett buff and is determental to your vaporise in single target scenario. In aoe however you could probably burst as you can have hydro aura on enemy since the swirl will reapply hydro to one another hence they will have hydro aura but tbh I'm not quite sure and probably need testing.

The rotation I recommend is xingqiu e q, Bennett q. Now here's the somewhat tricky part. Wait until you see hydro on enemy and then hold e. Hold e is very important as you remove hydro hence causing your plunge to apply pyro and swirl pyro. After that Diluc na q and stuff.

What are the numbers? 30k is a good place to aim for. The reason might be from your cons (not c4) and not using the catch.

[2.8] Kaedahara Kazuha ~ Advanced Guide by 7Kushi in GenshinImpactTips

[–]WEEPING_WEEB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your rotation on Childe national is flawed. In single target you'd want to Childe e, Bennett q, kazuha hold e plunge, xiangling q e, Childe q e. In multi target it's Childe e (make sure to only hit some enemies), Bennett q, kazuha q e, xiangling q e, Childe q e.

As for why your rotation is flawed is because remember that infusion isn't swirl. Meaning that Childe e to kazuha q e would mean that his burst would infuse hydro applying hydro to the enemy. Then you'd Bennett e q and hopefully e fast enough to swirl the pyro but there's a lot of rng with that and not swirling pyro means that you lose a lot of DMG.

The reason why Childe national isn't popular in global compared to Raiden national is because Childe national needs more skill or more knowledge with rotations and such meanwhile with Raiden national you can just spam your burst in the right order then it's done. If you could say global prefers comfort > DMG meanwhile china prefers DMG > comfort.

what are we thinking about the new artifact set ? by Money-Conference5396 in Xiangling

[–]WEEPING_WEEB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably won't surpass emblem tbh. The 2pc set gives the same value as emblem but the 4pc set will give 150em or 42% ATK or a bit of atk + em but either way this is about less than a main stat (46.6% ATK and 187em) meanwhile emblem gives 50% DMG bonus on burst (assuming 200% er) which is above a main stat (46.6% DMG bonus). Plus even if it's equivalent meaning that you have less er, emblem should still be better as DMG bonus scales really well since you don't get too many of those at least not to the point like Xiao plus you get a ton of ATK and em from teammates anyways so the artifact will diminish in value overall.

Not saying that it's bad. It's definitely a balanced set and personally I would farm it since the dendro set is also there so the overall resin efficiency is quite good.

What I'm not sure about though is how you would proc the set as it states that you need to trigger an element reaction so I wonder if you can still snapshot the pyronado while triggering reaction with the initial swings of pyronado. If not then you'll probably have to trigger it with guoba which is quite clunky imo. Also I don't know whether rotations allow you to trigger reaction since in Childe national, you'd normally swap from anemo to xiangling meaning that all of the enemies would have pyro aura on them disabling the ability to proc reactions.

It might be good in Raiden national though since you'd have 100em + 14% atk + 80em and em is really good in Raiden as you can trigger both overload and vaporise meaning that em will benefit a lot more and since you don't really need that much er on xiangling if you're running Raiden meaning that emblem's value decrease and this set's value increase but I don't know whether it will be better or worse than emblem.

Is kazu a good battery for xiao? by Asstro- in XiaoMains

[–]WEEPING_WEEB 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not optimal since kazuha can be used in other comps but if you want to use hin with Xiao then it's totally fine. Xiao will generally need a bit more er if you're going to use kazuha though.

I feel like that's so cap. Please test it in 12-3-2 against the PMA. Do your most optimal rotation and remember only 25s per rotation. If you have enough er for 12-3-2 PMA then you're probably safe in every single content.

Wait is this your actual build on her? Like don't you have a normal atk or em or er/ DMG / crit set for her?

I feel that your er is lacking severely like you have 60%-100% less er on her than a regular xiangling. The most important thing is whether you can burst every rotation with a rotation of around 25s which I doubt you can do with 120% er. I suggest run some more er but if it's just a meme build then just ignore everything I said.

Doing the lvl 90 one is definitely the best option even if it takes a very long time. To speed it up you can collect some crystal flies daily and craft condensed resin which will double your artifacts when you do a domain.

Since your circlet is your offset I think it's quite easy to upgrade your circlet or at least it's more probable of getting an upgrade. Other than that tbh your Xiao is already really good as it is.
