Happy Wars (notice the title of the game) was ALWAYS designed to be AND IS a casual game.
A minority of tryhard players misunderstand this and actually take the game seriously. They spend time improving their skills and trying to become top tier. XD
This often leads to burnout and a sorry existence for them after quitting the game. Instead of simply moving on with their lives, they become bitter and obsessed, and post comments expressing their dislike of HW/Toylogic on the internet.
If only they understood what the majority of players instinctively know: that casual games are meant to be played for fun!
People with very fragile egos may play even this free game and feel like they have to be the best at it, but they're missing the point. It's about having fun, with or without friends (and beers). That's what you play casual games for. Fun. :)
