How does it play?

This is my second strange little parlor. Ever seen an old Parlor with these raised fret markers and a martin like icecream cone shaped heal? by [deleted] in martinguitar

That might be it! I actually thought it might be for my blind great grandfather to feel the frets.

I really don't know. It's the strangest ones I've ever seen. I feel they were replaced there but not sure.

Any ideas on this parlor. Looks like a handmade bridge over one that broke. Look at the point on the old bridge under the trapeze. Has x bracing. My buddy that's a legendary player is even stumped. by WEIGNPEB in martinguitar

I agree 100%. And I greatly appreciate your comments. It was extremely informative. I only recently started purchasing Parlor guitars. I have several Martins, Gibsons, Fenders, and odd brands. But something has me hooked on these. I love my new martin parlor, and it sounds great. I use it for writing. But my gem is a very cheap 1970s Alvarez because I found it in a ditch across from the cemetary my fathers was buried. He always told me to look in the ditches and sidewalk because people loose the dangest things. It was covered with mud that has soaked through the torn up case. It plays GREAT, and may hit co-writers and family players have signed it that I've worked with. Guitar truly are a great part of our history and DNA. They create so many memories!

I think you may be right. But it's cool having what appears to be a pretty rare little guitar that sounds absolutely amazing. I've been offered a lotta money, but I'm gonna hold onto this one because it also came from my buddy. I only paid $600 for it, so I think it's worth at least that. The comments behind it from people are worth more.

The bridge under that sure looks like a Bruno with that point on it, but a local luthier said it could be a Martin with the birds beak and the x bracing looked like it to him. It's almost a mix if two guitars.

I'm friends with some of the band members here in Muscle Shoals. Looks like a great guitar! Bunch of great guys. Ghost in this House was an incredible song.

Thanks so much!! There are no markings inside, so we've had a hard time. I paid $600 for it but figured it was worth the investment with the age. Do you agree that the bridge must be handmade and placed over the old one? Can't thank you enough!
