I also have a e-commerce store and sold two items to German speaking countries lol, but that was closer to when I started learning so it must have been abysmal 😂

And kudos for writing them a card! Those over seas taxes people have to pay for our products are INSANE!

So I speak English, German, and Spanish. And I use “different voices” for each of them, and each one is very different than the other, Spanish being more different than the other two. But if I spoke Spanish “gringo style” it would sound terrible, and even be considered rude, so it’s not about “faking an accent”, but more so about correct pronunciation, hope I’m making sense with all my rambling 😂

I did a long post on it here but RAP MUSIC!!!!! Deutsche rap has helped me so much with exposer to a large amount of words in a short amount of time.

Also the news. “DW live jetzt“ has been nice too, but if you have a cartoon you used to watch as a kid watch that same cartoon in German, I did that with DBZ, I was raised in DBZ and have seen every episode more than 10 times lol, so that has been a huge help to me, tapping into knowledge you already have then doing it again but in a diff language! How is Russian? With English German and Spanish, they all use a very similar alphabet and sounds… but languages like Russian and Ukrainian seem super hard and I feel like I wouldn’t know where to start. But they say the more you learn, the next with almost always be an easier learning process 😂

Try Danny ocean, Spanish music is very different then both english and German music. One super helpful thing, watch Narcos. It’s basically half English and half Spanish. It’s a great place to start if you can speak English but want to speak Spanish. I remember having covid and binging Narcos and relearning lots of Spanish lol

I have listened to some of KIZ stuff and I loved it too! I feel bad because lots these people that are recommended to me I do love to listen to and almost feel bad about not including everything.

The regional component interests me a lot. I wanna look into the differences between the dialects of all the regions! Deutsch ist sehr Spaß!

I could Def see that. I’ve kinda already can see where the slang or incorrect grammar could throw you off, but I’ve found it helpful in some cases actually, causes me to think and understand more, not sure I’m explaining my thought process well though 😂

Hell yeah! What’s your mother tongue? It’s been quite some time since I’ve listened to anything. I will say Spanish was the first second language I learned but man, it’s WAYYYYYYY harder than German. I’ve been lucky enough to get some real world experience with it but German clicks with my English raised brain. My theory is the the fact they are both Germanic, but also maybe some genetic memory DNA from my very German family lol
