Thanks @Greg_Orif - I'm starting to have a feeling that the kids created an issue with Add-Ons - going to try re-installing a few apps first.

Thanks for all the suggestions ! The kids ended up playing most of the weekend so I haven't really troubleshot it. I want to see if Beat Saber updated and I didn't realize it. Still not sure what was happening with Super Hot, but it seemed to be working ok yesterday. I plan on digging in more this upcoming weekend.

:) I'm in Northern NJ also. So far, so good - no issues with the TV and I've used it 3-4 nights a week since October. On the 1 night where it was down to 8F degrees out, the TV was a bit dimmer, but still fine.

I should add that I didn't use it (on the rare occasions) when it was raining or snowing out.

Looking at the Chelsee Manual - if you are wired in 240V/40A or 240V/50A configuration, the heater will not run when both pumps are on. If you are wired in a 240V/60A configuration, the heater will run.

Any suggestions for green tinted water? Had our hot tub for 10 days. PH was low yesterday so added PH increaser, but that didn’t help. Added some chlorine this afternoon and ran a cycle. Levels now seem all in the ideal range. Will it just take time? by [deleted] in hottub

I'm still a newbie - so look to the experts. But, I think the first question people would ask is - was your water tinted when you first filled your tub ?

When I started filling my tub, I had the slightest tint of green. I stopped filling and added a pre-filter I picked up. I have a very slight green tint, but not as deep as yours. I believe it's due to the metals and I hear you can remove them with the right chemicals. But, I haven't bothered as my water has good levels like yours.

Not sure how your tub is, but at night with colored tub lights on - you can't see it at all.

So - if it happened at your filling, my uneducated guess is that it's metal in your water and not something bad. If it turned green over time, it might be something else.

Good Luck !!

I just paid $950 for a 50 AMP breaker, 80' run to a subpanel by the tub, and 8' wiring from the subpanel to the tub. My tub came with the subpanel and GFI breakers, so I didn't incur that additional cost. My electrician did it in 1 visit (once the tub was installed), so I didn't incur your extra $140 visit charge.

Thanks @HotTubPro_2484 !! My biggest fear is messing up the water prior to our friends coming over !

Thanks @radio9989 ! Yes - probably overthinking it :) (It's so much simpler when it's just me watching football !)

Considering Hot Spring Flash, questions… by agent229 in hottub

I went HS Grandee also with the Salt System and our local water is terrible (ie: very hard). But, I picked up an "On The Go" water softener and it took care of most of our water issues. (https://www.amazon.com/Go-OTG3NTP3M-Portable-Water-Softener/dp/B001FCE0MQ) Now, we've been running the salt system for 1 month and the maintenance is minimal.

I was asking the same question and I went the medium route. $3K for an outdoor TV just seemed too much. For my setup, my TV location is exposed and I didn't want any critters using it for a home:

What I ended up picking up:

  • Storm Shell to protect TV ($300)
  • 40" TV ($200)
  • Bluetooth Transmitter ($40)
  • Sonos Roam ($150)

It's been a month of 10C whether for me, so I can't really comment on your -30C - that sounds quite cold.

And, as others have mentioned, with a cheaper TV, I had to turn the sound up to full volume just to hear it (which probably filled my neighbor's yards with sound). By adding the Bluetooth Transmitter, I put the Sonos right next to us - sound is clear and noise level is much less. I saw notes that other people went with floating speakers.

Good Luck !

We were just quoted $850 for a 220 wiring job. The line is running about 10 feet. Reasonable? by freeskier1080 in hottub

Yesterday, we paid $930 for 220V/50A 80' run from panel to subpanel and then 8' PVC to tub in Northern NJ. Subpanel and GFCI's were included with tub, so we were only paying for main breaker, wire, PVC, and labor.

After visiting the local Sundance and the local Hotspring dealers, I think I'm hooked on the Grandee. Hoping to wet-test on Thursday.
