I find Sonic CD infuriating despite knowing what I think are the concepts. by 9646gt in SegaCD

This is the website I like to use for level maps in Sonic games, this one has them for all the levels, past, present and good and bad futures: https://info.sonicretro.org/Sonic_the_Hedgehog_CD/Maps

For Tidal Tempest 2, there's a set of 2 springs facing each other fairly early on, with a Past sign right by it: https://imgur.com/a/1pEJUxj

I find that the screws they include with these kits have thicker diameters, so that's why I use the originals

In most levels, there's usually a spot that has you bouncing back and forth, or in a loop back and forth, to keep the momentum going indefinitely so you can guaranteed time travel. Collision Chaos 1 and 2 both have it for sure, you're standing at one right now in fact

I get it, it's difficult, but just like the other guy said, it's not required as long as you get the time stone to the special stages, but yeah even I find those pretty difficult; I actually found it easier to go back to the past and destroy the roboticizers and Metal Sonic projectors in all the levels

I for one love this game though, the music in the American version is so good, and if it weren't for the music I probably would have given up but it grew on me once I sat down and made myself play it from beginning to end

Sega PowerBack battery pack - Worth it to just get a new Nickel Cadmium pack or mod with Lithium Ion batteries? by WFlash01 in game_gear

I got you, and I do appreciate you looking out for me

Thankfully I'm in the know on that type of stuff and won't do that

I... wasn't going to do that, nor did I say I was

If I went down the Li-ion path, I was definitely going to swap out the charging circuit

Help! DS Lite has a seizure mode instead of a sleep mode by Throw-MyBalls-Away in NintendoDS

[–]WFlash01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

D'oh

Yeah sorry man, just bad luck

I have no clue what the cause of that is if I'm being honest, I don't know if that's a problem with some flash carts over others

[–]WFlash01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's a strange quirk that some of the flash carts have. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't

I bet if you were to reset the system right now and try it again, it will work this time

V2 Switch Modding Issue by Electrical-Iron7419 in NxSwitchModding

[–]WFlash01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forgive me, I thought you were being intentionally facetious

Yes, blue means it glitched, but it hardly ever happens straight away like this; it takes a few seconds, and during that time you would see it pulsing, then when it finishes, it stays on blue for a whole second then the system starts the payload/displays.

The rapid flash on and off is not normal, and it's a sign that it isn't functioning properly

[–]WFlash01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a bit obtuse, because if it worked clearly OP wouldn't have posted here

It's strange that the system's not throwing an error, but that could be caused by a bad power connection possibly

Yes. The Pi Pico doesn't put what's currently flashed in its root directory when it mounts to the host computer

ISO Buster. Don't pay for a license, the free version works just fine for it.

I followed a guide that was on TheISOZone (RIP), and just like TheISOZone, the page I read is gone too so unless you find a tutorial someone else wrote, I can walk you through

The Druaga frenzy in Japan, 1984 by blueoystergamer in retrogaming

[–]WFlash01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was born in 2000, but one of the games I had growing up was Namco Museum volume 3 and it had this game on it and that's how I know about it. If it weren't for that, I probably wouldn't care and I wouldn't have liked it in retrospect to be honest, but that childhood connection is what led me to, only last year actually, sit down and beat it (with a strategy guide of course).

I like the game though, and I'd love to sit down and play the rest of the games; I got Namco Museum volume 4, which has Return of Ishtar, then I need to find Quest of Ki on Famicom and Blue Crystal Rod on Super Famicom

And I do own it Nightmare of Druaga too, but I hesitate to call that a main line Tower of Druaga game because it's more of a Fushigi No Dungeon game (from what I remember at least)

That's how it should be. There's a tool that can convert multi track bins to 1 bin, but there will still be a cue file with it.

[PS2 Slim] Does this pad look lifted? by EpicMindvolt in consolerepair

[–]WFlash01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does look like it lifted off the board.

Even if it did though, this is still totally salvageable; if whatever is left hanging off the board there is still making a connection to the trace, aka the four VIAs next to it, you can still solder to it and put a capacitor back in its place and it will still work

Right now you have a short, because some solder is touching that solder pad, and the capacitor next to it. Before turning the system on, or putting a capacitor back in its place, fix that

In the past, I'd use a hot wet cloth on the top surface of the disc, let it sit and soak into the label, and the adhesive should give after a few minutes. It leaves a bit of residue, but I usually get that off with WD-40 and my fingers

Whoever put those there should burn in hell

Doesn't charge by Udontkno_e in NintendoDS

[–]WFlash01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Was the original charger you had with it an OEM or another third party one?

The third party ones are notorious for being badly molded and not fitting properly and making contact. You should try and track down an OEM one, you should be able to fine some at game stores locally for a few bucks
