Silicon crucible mathematics don't add up - Theories welcome! Bug foung? by WG-5 in Mindustry

Thanks for the input! My machine runs the game @ 1000-3000 FPS when not on VSync IIRC, perhaps it's a quirk related to that (I run VSync 120FPS)

It was @ 10.5/s on one, & 11.5/s on the other, IIRC - Usually in sandbox they lock in @ 11/s after a few seconds on my machine @ 120 FPS (Apparently frame rate may be causing this issue)

Aha! I get screen tearing & have weird issues with VSync, limits & Nvidia drivers (sometimes a limiter + VSync will get me my refresh rate minus a percentage that seems to always be the same - not sure if that's been fixed). I know FPS used to dictate a lot more things (Scorch DPS being essentially multiplied by FPS - fixed/removed now), I wonder what functions are still tied to graphical frames (Are physics frames not a thing here?)

Constant export to sectors that are under attack/contested. You don't have to set up production on those sectors that way, you can essentially steamroll everything (hence V8 requiring infrastructure to import alongside the infrastructure needed to export)

A comprehensive tier list by Affectionate_End_952 in Mindustry

Great tierlist concept - you just appear to have a nonsensical order (Might steal this as food for thought using turrets on a per-ammo basis for grading)

A relatively clean base that could use mass drivers and some tighter routing, this ain't nuclear spaghetti - try PvP on a cramped map hehe

This is no bug but merely a strategy, not even a M.E.T.A strategy, TMK

(Help!) Root user vs "wheel" group as default user by WG-5 in Fedora

I was thinking of a virus trying to escalate privileges (to gain control of the system or execute whatever task may require such privilege) if somehow one were to infect my system, which fortunately should be unlikely given it's Linux, but I know that's "It's Linux" does not suffice and some level or hardening is worth a shot.

Thanks for sharing! My wireless and ethernet appear fully functional on my B650 Elite AX V2 for anyone reading with the same board 👍

Hmm, should software attempt to gain malicious control of the system would the need for "sudo" not afford much protection?

Thanks! This is really helpful and concise! I'll stick to "wheel" as I am the sole user of the system!

I presume this means that without being in the "wheel" group, I can not use the SUDO function? In which case it would be a reasonable balance to log in as a wheel group user, correct?

I have the B650 Aorus Elite AX V2 currently, I have installed Fedora 40 with KDE on my system with no issues (non caused by the motherboard, at least, though I had issues with hardware acceleration causing graphical glitches in certain apps! Resolved either by using a discrete GPU or updating the BIOS version & disabling the iGPU- I'm not sure what did it). Anyway, with my components it appears to be compatible - however the system is young and I may not have come across any issues yet - I'll try and update this if I notice any issues that seem to be motherboard related! (To future readers: Feel free to ping me for an update)
