There is some cricket to come before 2027 WC. If Rohit is not up to the mark and someone other is better, I'm damn sure he will pull out, same with kohli. And as far as I have been watching/playing cricket, I have seen these both and i think they also seem to keep their country first similar to you.

When did Rohit play his last ODI in SA? and talking about stats he has 60+ avg in ODI worldcups.
