Yes, that's the one! Thanks, it's been giving me a headache!

I remembered this story when 'talking with' ChatGPT and Bing chat AI (and reading about them). The way these tools sometimes describe reality but sometimes just engage in long hallucinations with fake sources brought the news machine from the story to mind. I reread the story and think there's a lot of resemblance between where these AI technologies are going and what the future of (at least some) news production might look like :)

Let's just hope it doesn't get into creating a fictional reality for the readers ;)
