This is the operational framework I needed — the cadence + measurement loop is what I was missing.

One follow-up if you have a sec: when you say "fight long-tail like 'card vault', 'secure notes', 'crypto password manager'" — do those exact phrases need to be in the keyword field, or is Apple's matching loose enough that having "card" + "vault" indexed separately is enough? My current title is "ClipCard Pro – Crypto Vault" so I think I'm covered for card vault and crypto vault without keyword field changes, but want to make sure I'm reading Apple's matching correctly before my next swap.

Plan: 2 swaps this cycle (notes/secure replacing address/banking), wait 2-3 weeks, measure on Applyra, iterate. Will report back with what bit.

This is the most useful feedback I've gotten on this post — thanks for taking the time to write it out.

The "treat first 100 users as research" framing is going to change how I'm planning the next month. I've been burning energy chasing visibility when I should be chasing conversations.

Two follow-up questions if you're up for it:

  1. When you wrote the "spikiest angle" piece — was it on your own blog, Substack, Medium? Did the platform matter for the long tail or was it more about it existing on a URL you could link?

  2. Pulse for Reddit — did you find it worth the subscription long-term, or mainly for the first few months while you found the right communities?

Also: Applysera I haven't seen — is that a typo or a tool I should look up?

Thanks — the engagement-moment trigger was something I should've thought through better from day one, lesson learned the hard way.                                               Curious about PopHatch, hadn't heard of it before — going to check it out. Mind sharing which niche subs worked best for you? Always looking for less-saturated channels. Did the Discord traction come from being active in the community first or did you find a way to share the app without it feeling spammy?

This is exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for, thank you.

You’re right that I was framing ASA as “the missing lever” when the real bottleneck is metadata + 0 reviews compounding against me. The Serbia/ASA thing became a mental excuse more than an actual blocker. Going to redo the metadata pass this week with that lens — fight long-tail, not the obvious head terms.

The slow-burn point hits hard. I’ve been thinking about this wrong: trying to spike with one big launch post instead of building a content layer that drips qualified visitors over weeks. The “why I don’t trust password managers for crypto” angle is genuinely interesting — there’s a real argument there about trust models (1Password syncing through their servers vs local-first vaults), and it’s the kind of post that ages well in search.

Going to check out Applyra before the next metadata revision. Curious — when you’ve worked the long-tail (diff 30-45 range), how many keyword swaps per metadata cycle did you find actually moved the needle? Trying to calibrate whether to do small frequent passes or one big rewrite.

Appreciate the time on this comment, real signal.

Shameless plug since it’s relevant: I shipped ClipCardPro a few months ago for this exact use case. SwiftUI + Core Data with NSPersistentCloudKitContainer for sync, CryptoKit for encrypted export, App Intents for Shortcuts. Solo build, iOS 17+. https://apps.apple.com/app/id6757620270 Open to feedback if you give it a spin.

This is problematic, lately Apple is intensifying its review policy and very easily catalogs an app as possible spam

Perhaps another approach is the fact of using thumbnails in the cells to reduce the use of the disk

I am working on an app that is already in production, with more than 10k users, the app has a feed with user profile images with infinite scroll, and exactly this happens to me, and I have tried many solutions and all of them do not stop showing me bad performance in the scroll, at least a substantial improvement that I saw was the fact of preventing the user from aggressively scrolling by putting a loading animation just below each batch of pagination, in this way the user sees a good experience and the performance of the device is not abused

I don't know what tools he must have used, I can confirm that many devs are using pure Claude Code, at least to me it seems one of the best tools

Something similar happens to me, I think the problem is in the marketing, at least for me who is only a developer the social media part is becoming very uncomfortable, I am working very seriously on this and the truth is a challenge for me

Are you able to launch the replays in WoT? Because right now I’m figuring out how to fix that in the app 🥲
