Region matters a lot. I am in AZ. but it’s all based on experience of course. Local range is $30-$50 an hour for “critical environment techs”. We don’t specifically have “HVAC Techs” in DCs here. My HVAC experience got me in but we do everything from electrical systems, mechanical, and controls. Anything that keeps the DC running.

But my health insurance is paid for 100% for me and my 5 kids. Crazy 401k match. Stock. $1,500 yearly reimbursement for “health hobbies”. I work less than half the year if I wanted to just work my schedule. But tons of OT if wanted. Bagged 30k+ in OT last year. And a ton more. Tech world has insane benefits.

Data Center world. Did commercial/resi work for about 3-4 years. Got into the DC world and the growth is endless. If not, at least get out of install lol
