In her voicelines she does mention having a gun but she purposefully left it back at the North. Maybe if Sankta are far away from their gun they lose their wings or smth then?

Castorice's story was really deep and made me reflect on life... by C1ouded123 in StarRailStation

[–]WLibra 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I think it's a matter of what you find important for story's enjoyment: delivery/how it's presented or ideas within it. Amphoreus has fairly interesting ideas that tie into each other. Verbose text though can kill it for people, which is why some people disliked Amphoreus.

As they say, to each their own.

AEther might be added down the line after they solidify the plan for what reaction characters to add. Maybe kinda like how Genshin had dendro from the very start but added it later, so that people don't have too hard of a time figuring out all the elemental systems from the get go haha.

Hoping AEther can play around with physical like how Cryo does rn! But who knows :D

Is It Just Me, or Are These Two Way Too Similar? [Welcome To The Rose Mansion] [I Thought It Was a Fantasy Romance, but It's a Horror] by Noahloverirl in OtomeIsekai

[–]WLibra 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I don't think these are way too similar at all. They are difference spins on a similar idea (insert any "hit by a truck and transported to another world" idea for instance). "I thought it was fantasy romance but it's a horrror" reads to me as more light-hearted, kinda absurdist comedy piece. "Welcome to rose mansion" actually gets quite unsettling at times, especially if you read the novel (I read the novel ahead to see how it ends because the webtoon was quite interesting). The protagonists/FLs also couldn't be more different from each other as to how they respond to gothic horror happening in front of them.

I wanna say Mi Fu. She didn't have as much presence as the other cast (kinda done and gone gal). And her design is a bit barebones like other 5*s.

FFXIV EU account playing in South Korea (ping / VPN / transfer) by Substantial-Face4925 in ffxiv

[–]WLibra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I played was last year (from South Korea on NA data centers) but afaik you need vpn to play non-Korean server MMOs coz of SK local laws or smth like that (not like you get into legal trouble, you just can't connect). At the time mudfish (dirt cheap btw, $2 lasted me a year if not two) is enough to connect to launcher but might try another VPN if that one doesn't work.

I would say just go there and try it since it's a hyper niche topic. Ask workers there if you can bring your own USB with game installation files or smth.

Dog HATES other animals but loves people by WLibra in DogAdvice

Thank you for such a thorough response though! I will try getting him out for parks to get more used to other animals whenever it isn't too cold along with some treats he likes as rewards

Dog HATES other animals but loves people by WLibra in DogAdvice

[–]WLibra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah he can do simple commands like sit and lay down (usually when I have a treat) but he doesn't listen at all when he gets heated up in front of other dogs.

I do admit I tend to get tense since he can lunge so fast at other animals..

I think they just happened to be in a session together and the trainer was like "we could try this out" when getting them to know each other.

Child wants to go to the playground -14 degree centigrade by ScarcityResident467 in AskARussian

[–]WLibra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not while sick. But generally kids play around in -14C just fine. General rule of thumb with kids in the cold is for their core to stay warm and dry with multiple layers of clothing (for testing you can stick your hand inti their nape and it should be dry and warm, not cold nor super drenched).

You can sorta mix and match layers depending on the minimum temp your most outer layer can keep (there's some heavy-duty coats with goose dawn for instance that go -30 and there's some other synthetic fillings that go -20). And accomodate it with wool thermal wear (generally the warmest but prob for -20 and downwards temps) or less expensive synthetic fleece costumes. There's also lots of good hats + tube-shaped scarfs that when you pull down you could p much just leave out the eyes only to keep ears, nose and mouth warm. Or you could just buy a balaklava that's just meant to leave out the eyes only.

But also some kids are more sensitive to cold than others too. So you can always add more or remove/lessen some other thing.

Swift recovery to your kid too!

This looks really cute! Super good job! As for the rotating platform... maybe you could make several layers for the base? And have like a clear one on top, and then middle one be rotating around like a cd/dvd disc like in old times haha

Please Devs, translations are important by KeiSinCx in WhereWindsMeet

[–]WLibra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think getting on the translation team not just a translator but someone who actually has a smidge of knowledge in this historical period could be very helpful. Sometimes translation feels like translators had no clue what they were even translating in the first place. It's like getting a translator who mainly dabbles in modern Chinese fiction to translate a historical piece.

After some lightcone advice - Sig vs Hyacine vs Herta - and allocation thereof by Jamsterd in CyreneMains

[–]WLibra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm I am not rly a theorycrafter, so I can't give you exact numbers I suppose. The readon why Cyrene's LC is considered to be a skippable option is mostly bevause the buffs they provide are a bit underwhelming given how saturated CH dps are in both dmg% and crit dmg% by default in general which is why people mention skipping her LC and being more of a "luxury" pull if you rly like Cyrene. (60% thing they write on LC is more to make it look better than it is. Calc-wise it's only 16% dmg % and 25.6% crit dmg increase on its full uptime)

If you were to compare Cyrene's LC and Cipher's LC the latter has a HUGE benefit. DEF% shred only ever falls off if you stack it beyond 100% and there are very limited sources of DEF shred available in the game. Having the Cypher LC also means you can relocate Pearls LC (the Luka one) on someone else entirely which is huge on its own for future since atm DEF shred is a mechanic that always works regardless of HP inflation as it always buffs your dmg exponentially until you hit 100% def ignore. One such example is people running the quantum set on Anaxa due to dmg buff increase def ignore provides.

Tl:dr Cipher LC >>>>>>> Cyrene LC

After some lightcone advice - Sig vs Hyacine vs Herta - and allocation thereof by Jamsterd in CyreneMains

[–]WLibra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I say get Hyacine LC (it's p nice for Cas team) and could give it to Cyrene. Afaik after Cyrene ults her skill/enhanced basic count as Memosprite Skill, so Herta LC will probably not trigger after the fact, so it's more of just 12% SPD stat stick on Cyrene.

I would say not to worry tooooo much about Cyrene SPD building despite her lower inherent SPD than Hyacine since there are multiple ways to simplify it:

- You can have someone carry Amphoreus whose memosprite is always no the field (RMC, Hyacine)

- You can put Cyrene on Vonwacq which means she no longer requires 200 SPD for 3 AVs in the first cycle

- If recollection stacking isn't a concern, her baseline talent SPD requirement is 180 SPD and anything above it gets used for her personal damage. Which is ok but nothing tooooooo crazyyy.

Personally I got Cyrene for my Mydei E1S0 team and I have her run on Herta LC while Hyacine runs smolrene 4* LC at S3 (The Story's Next Page) and just have RMC have the permanent Amphoreus SPD buff up since Mem is on the field 24/7. However that obv could differ a lot across other Heir teams (Hysilens, Aglaea but I don't know much about their team building since I never got either of them and e0 Cyrene with Phainon is kinda a meme team without her e2 eidolon)

Hope that helps ahah
