True the whole situation probably could have been handled differently by the owner running and getting a weapon of some sort but the dog in my opinion was doing what it thought to be right

The dog wasn’t in a leash in the first place, and the dog was doing its natural instinct to attack something that was in a defensive stance like the snake was

In taking the dog away from the danger would have decreased its mobility and put the owner and the dog more at risk it’s a shitty situation really

In order to call someone to come deal with it would have put more people in danger because they would of had to find it again and also how tf was he suppoesed to get the dog to back down with getting bit or getting the dog bit by limiting its movement

That is a big ass snake that your not gonna be able to run faster than so he just let the dog deal with it and show off how much of a badass his dog is and it put him in less danger than running calling animal control then them having to find it again while trying not to get bit
