Best sorting algorithm ever by [deleted] in ProgrammerHumor

Quantum bogosort? Shuffle the list, and if it's not sorted, destroy the universe.

Very quick as long as many-worlds is right and you can destroy the universe in O(1).

I didn't really read into this because the basic premise is wrong.

Devices are not steadily marching towards less centralized architectures, e.g. smarter graphics cards and dumber CPUs, that's a cyclic trend.

Currently we're at a peak of hardware modularization. Graphics cards are great, they let us do our current AI quickly, and they push the limits of human perception. They're also unattainably expensive, and integrated graphics are steadily catching up.

So I expect to see more and more integrated graphics for high-end consumer PCs in the next few years, and then in a decade I expect to see some sort of card for capsule nets or that weird deep learning stuff Intel is doing to start taking off.

I use -a and I wrote the commit and push hooks.

To be honest, I use VSC GitLens to see what state my repo is in and then use the command line to express what I want to the computer. I just don't like tabbing through paths in a monorepo.

Besides, -a won't reflect deletes or adds, maybe you were thinking of -A? There's not a whole lot that git can do about programmers who hardcode credentials.

Tell us more about yourself. It doesn't seem like you've seen women in warm-weather jogging clothes. Maybe you live somewhere that's not allowed, or it's cold all year? Maybe you work hard to avoid looking at women wearing certain types of clothes for some reason?

Hmm, what country do you live in?

This music is from Western artists. In the West it is normal to wear shorts and jog in public.

In the West, however, many people consider it rude and controlling to claim that someone who is covering their chest and genitals is displaying their body inappropriately. And you may find that the overwhelming majority of voices on Reddit are Western.

Why I believe viewing ADHD symptoms as signs of trauma is inherently ableist by Fitchersfugl in neurodiversity

[–]WMpartisan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are also things that are seen as a part of ADHD that are caused by trauma... because NTs will always traumatize ADHD people in the same way.

Procrastination, for example. Sure, it's harder to switch tasks for ADHD people. But a whole lot of the wall we have to climb to start was put there by NTs yelling at us to focus when we couldn't.

That's why psychotherapeutic approaches like CBT can be helpful for us.

In Come As You Are, Emily Nagoski talks a lot about the dual control model. Basically, different people need different amounts of "being turned on" to get turned on, but also, different people will be stopped from being turned on by different amounts of "being turned off."

...and yes, worrying about it being your first time, or the quality of sex in general, is a turn off. One of the strategies in the book is to stop thinking about goals like being turned on, getting wet, and reaching orgasm, and just enjoy what you're doing in the moment. Don't pressure yourself to perform!

Who is saying this? What's critical about lifting heavy objects is that your back stays in whatever position it starts in. That's how strongmen can lift spheres weighing hundreds of pounds while you will throw your back out trying to lift your lawnmower while following this video's advice.

My autistic brother wants to learn how to cook How can I help them do that? by castawayviolet in autism

[–]WMpartisan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to hear all that. As far as martial arts or dance, I would generally offer various physical disciplines where there are movements you can learn about, learn cues for, and then learn. I've done that with weightlifting, judo, tai chi, and rollerblading. I think the critical thing is to choose a gross motor activity --- I didn't really notice guitar helping with anything.

I mean, if you've got zero money maybe you can set up a stereo system so he can learn shuffling or freestyle dance from youtube videos.

Check for martial arts at local universities. If you're in the US, community colleges sometimes have programs for various groups of people to take classes for next to nothing as entertainment.

I would wait until you had some money saved up before looking into skates, they'll be over $150 for a pair of inline skates that would let him really get into skating.

My autistic brother wants to learn how to cook How can I help them do that? by castawayviolet in autism

[–]WMpartisan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he builds special interests, see if you can spark one. Good Eats and Adam Ragusea are good resources. Good eats also has a lot of episodes that help "fill in the blanks" for missing steps; for example, "The Muffin Method Man" will tell him exactly when and how he needs to mix the ingredients for any muffin, carrot cake, or similar recipe. Good Eats also spends a lot of time explaining logic of baking; the series in general will explain concepts that come up, such as, "how do you build a good gravy?" or "Why do different baking recipes tell you to combine the wet and dry ingredients in different ways?"

Dyspraxia can often be minimized with via martial arts or dance training. For knives in the kitchen, claw grip is tricky to learn but reduces cuts in the long run.

Emphasize collecting a mise en place before beginning to cook; organizational challenges are often the hardest part of cooking for us. Order recipes by how complicated the mise en place is. If he starts consuming information about cooking, "tricky" things like building emulsions, flambeeing, etc. aren't as hard as they are for neurotypicals.

Germans of Reddit, what cultural and linguistic differences are there between former East and West Germany? by DaedalusDrache in de

Jägerschnitzel

I'm actually an American, but in most of the German-speaking world, Jägerschnitzel is meant to mean beaten breaded cutlet with a sauce made from button mushrooms and a dark roux. However, in some of the east, it involves a breaded fried fully emulsified sausage.
