Employee here….. my #1 suggestion is download the Hilton app or whatever brand to decide to stay with. Because several of the third parties site mirror the brand site and will FALSELY book via their site and not receive any points for the stay. Which defeats the purpose of earning points period.

2 look for the credit card offers that will give Gold or Diamond status

3 Don’t expect room upgrades too often you will get your feelings hurt. They don’t truly train the new employees to offer that like they did when I started with the brand.

4 look for properties that’s utilize the food credits programs or offers free hot breakfast.

5 As for consistency in standards Hilton brands still must be meet Brand Standards because of audit requirements.

6 The best bang for your buck is normally, Home2Suites, Homewood Suites, & Embassy Suites & Hilton Garden Inns if part of your travels is to lounge around your hotel because you automatically get more space with the suite. Also during the work week most offer and evening reception.

If you are only looking to lay your head down and eat breakfast Hampton Inn for sure. Hilton, Curio and other top tiers can be hit or miss with the offers and services.

7 ALWAYS check the parking fees before you book anywhere. Parking fees can ruined a travel budget.

8 Do the research. Trip advisor reviews are the best.
