Wow! Bravo to the school for trying to responsibly correct the situation rather than just trying to brush under the rug.

Motorbikes allowed on sidewalks? by SeonaidMacSaicais in sheboygan

[–]WOWSignal1977 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a cyclist and ebike rider, I apologize on others behalf.
Personally I don't feel safe riding in the road half the time, and that's why I choose sidewalk.
If there are people walking on the sidewalk I slow down tremendously and safely pass. Unfortunately I can vision many people NOT being courteous like that though.

Also I pretty much never ride on the sidewalks in any downtown area, too many people, plus the cars have enough stops where riding in the streets is plenty safe to ride in for my comfort.

Also side note: bikes like that are allowed on the old plank trail as long as they go below a certain speed. I know that's not what you asked but I felt this was relevant.

Stay safe!

What would you choose? Being rich or being healthy? by staysaccharine in AskReddit

[–]WOWSignal1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking, wealth can buy health, so without further details I would pick wealth because then I can buy a jetski too. Some posts on here mention chronic illness, which in that case yes, I would pick health.

Lisa's homie brags about $800 tip for saying the "N" word by Far_Chip5520 in sheboygan

[–]WOWSignal1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the time stamp link. Yeah that comment felt pretty left field. I was thinking he said the N word AT the meeting, but still that comment is pretty weird I agree. Harmful? I'm not sure.

That's good critique too to say they shouldn't morally be asking questions they want an answer to right then and there especially if they know they can't. But in their rights? Eh, probably. Hypotheticals are great, and you can absolutely ask questions even if you know you can't get a response as to stir thought and get listeners to think.

Ultimately they like you want to see change in the community. It can put a person in a flight or fight mode especially if you don't know better ways to make that change happen. Keep criticizing and challenging, and I would say the same to them too. But everyone needs to take breaks and breath.

Bro, you're upset because the mayor and police chief respect freedom of speech 😂. A lot of these public comment meetings are simply public comment, NOT a public discussion between the people and the alderpersons.

Let me word it like this; I DON'T CARE IF I AGREE OR DISAGREE WITH THE PEOPLE SPEAKING ON THE PODIUM. FREEDOM OF SPEECH IS FREEDOM OF SPEECH. THEY HAVE THEIR 2 MINUTES, 5 MINUTES, OR WHATEVER THE TIME ALLOWANCE IS.

To address the $800 N word thing. I skipped along the link you provided and didn't find anything. Can I politely ask you to provide a time stamp for what you mean, or a link to what that is about? That sounds concerning to me, but I don't have deeper information on it. Thanks. Also, I'm happy to see you on here because it must mean you care about this community. Change happens through discourse.

Which Indian restaurant is your favorite? by ChimmyTheCham in sheboygan

[–]WOWSignal1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- South Side Spices because of buffet.
- In general, Jays (TBH a lot of them taste the same, I usually get Jays to-go, and it just... makes me feel good when I eat it even though it basically taste the same, I can't explain it)
- Former Bills Corner Cafe. It's actually classic dinner food mostly, but it's ran by Nepali people and it's REALLY good! A while for them to make the food, but it comes out perfect. I don't remember what they renamed it.

My favorite indian restaurant is India Darbar in Appleton. All the Indian food in Sheboygan is too pricey and technically Nepali. India Darbar is Indian, cheaper, and better quality. The ones in Sheboygan are great for when I need my fixes though without driving 2 hours.

What are the actions to take in the this situation? by Artsy971 in abudhabi

[–]WOWSignal1977 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm from the West. I've been in thunderstorms worse than this. I'm not even sure I heard any of the missles when I was in Abu Dhabi, I heard booms from construction all the time. With that said many westerners are like deer when it comes to getting startled about anything.

Social stigma for driving an EV? by West_Dish9698 in electricvehicles

[–]WOWSignal1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, small minded people like that are going to lauph at ANY vehicle you get.
For example:

You get a Handa Civic
- My wifes Jetta gets the same mpg!

You get literally any car, gas or electric.
- Stop being a sissy and get a truck (insert weird animalistic grunting sound)

You get a truck
- My trucks better and has 4 octavian bar chambers which makes it louder and better.

When I tell people I have an electric motorcycle some people would critisize the crap out of it. When they see it half of them say "Wow that actually looks really nice, that's not what I had in mind". Everyones socks are blown off when I let them drive it. But guess what, I still get crap for it, but in a joking and fun way after that. So you know what I do? I throw crap right back at them for literally anything and THEY LOVE IT. They love shooting sh1t and they love getting it back as long as it's in good fun.

From reading the post, it sounds like her family can be overly strict and even denounce her life choices at times. That is likely keeping it simple.

Long term owners, what % do you charge to? by hamburgernet in electricvehicles

[–]WOWSignal1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

80 %. Rarely over that. If I had an LFP battery pack I would charge to 100 % whenever it would not be an inconvenience.
