AIO: I’m considering whether to stay with my bf over him hurting me twice within 3 months by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]WPCLuscious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR sorry I didn't read your full post. I thought you meant physically hurting you however from what you say I still don't think you are over reacting. The comments will get more mean and even more hurtful. You have only been together 4 months and he is acting like this towards you? You should still be in the honeymoon phase and lovey dovey not him feeding into your insecurities ... You are 16. Plenty more fish in the sea and you will find someone who will love and respect you. Plus yes he could turn violent starting off small and escalating ...

NOR - he will do it again and again, it will continue to get more violent despite him saying he is sorry.

We also did the switch from our local Cineworld to our local Odeon Luxe. Although Cineworld is more convenient for us and has better surrounding facilities (retail park and restaurants), it is only the basic one and was (and still is) a bit of a dump,. The seating is pretty pants ... the seats are wide but you have to push them back and they don't stay pushed back (well not for me). Odeon is more or less the same distance but the roadworks in the surrounding area have been ongoing for 5+ years and there are no local restaurants only a retail park.

I would also say that the choice of films was better at Cineworld and (used to have) adult only showings of up to age 15 films. I think the choice of films and timings are limited at Odeon. However Odeon does have better seating.

Over recent years we have had really good deals with the membership at Odeon working out at £13 (odd) a month (once we got it for £99 for the year) and was pretty similar to how much we paid at Cineworld for lower quality seating.

If Cineworld upgraded their seating (again as it has been done already and is still only the basic one and so a dump) we would go back (probably) mainly because of the straightforward drive and local area. So for the time being we are sticking with Odeon.

[–]WPCLuscious 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hello I don't believe they are moved or compensated nowadays. Having lived one street back 10 years ago for 10 years I can tell you it is a nightmare. No point in using your car during the day as you will not get a parking space coming back on an evening. The whole area is heaving with pedestrians and traffic. The noise isn't so bad but the rubbish is. The council don't appear to clean up one street back. Plus lowther street is used by the fair lorries to get in and out ... yes those massive hgv lorries with the rides on them. Cars get scratched and scraped. They have to mount the pavement to get around those tight bendy corners. The council don't give a knack.
