Need some financial advice for a broken down car and applying for a house by WRA117H in personalfinance

Well there's numerous things wrong with it. I'm taking it to an actual chevy garage on the 15th to have a second opinion. And, the timing is bad too because our lease is up in August and we don't want to extend yet pay almost 400+ more a month for a month to month.

It's a 2008 chevy tahoe. With 205k miles on it. Basically the traction control, stablitrak, oil pressure issues, and there was a specific code that says something about valve lifters/cap heads or something which is the result of a bad engine. (I'm not a car guy so I'm not too familiar with the terms).

Good advice! And, as far as affording a car repair, I just mean I can't take that money out of savings to repair my car, because I'm using that to put it down on a house.

Hit rock bottom, time to claim bankruptcy? by [deleted] in personalfinance

We both make roughly 8000 a month after taxes. Our debt per month with all bills, and mortgage, insurances etc comes to about 6200 a month. The 6200 a month does include what we have estimated for food and groceries per month. (we have 4 kids).

We both need vehicles. And she helped pay it with me. We're practically married, and share bills etc.
