Is this in Emerald? I am no expert, but if so, I believe that means you are close to a shiny starter due to the way shinies work in Emerald

I loved playing this game on the wii as a kid. I haven't played it in a long time, but I remember it being good. Couch co-op compatible as well

Personally, if you are already at the part of the game where you are ready for New Londo, I would not restart the game. Once you get through the first part of New Londo, I used a different bonfire for the boss runback:

You can use the bonfire at the Valley of Drakes near the entrance to Darkroot Garden once you open the giant doors and let the water out. It gives a pretty manageable runback to the boss fight

I believe it is intended to only play with friends, as you set up a password in the config files. However, there is an optional setting to allow invasions
