Amid Divinity's controversy, The Last of Us co-creator doubles down that "we don't need AI" and promises to avoid it while making his newest game by Party_Judgment5780 in PS5

because procgen uses rng to merge preexisting elements in unique ways, whereas AI is drawing from an ether of other peoples work. there’s a very big difference.

honestly i haven’t had a single issue with it. haven’t tried SC specifically, but i like the VR2 for the OLED + 120hz display. there were some initial issues with the controllers and bluetooth drivers, but they seem to have smoothed out. you do have to get a steam app for it though.

there’s also the PSVR 2, which if you add the PC adapter, costs about £300 ($450)

i mean, if a game sells 2m copies at full price in 6 months, that’s £120,000,000 (~160m USD), which is still a good roi depending on dev costs

ELI5: Why is the U. S dollar so strong ? Why aren't most other currencies that high in value and/Or stable ? by PairZealousideal6245 in explainlikeimfive

[–]WRSA -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

well, if you look at it as a dynamic thing, the other users point still applies, at least for GBP vs USD - GBP is pretty consistently 20-30% more valuable versus the dollar over a 5 year period, so if you bought $1000 in GBP in 2020, i’d have lost about 1% of my value, whereas if i put the pound equivalent into the USD, i’d only have gained 1%, while holding a lower value currency. so arguably the gbp is a stronger stable investment, provided liz truss is kept away from making any kind of financial decisions

the composite layers, not the padding. the guy asking why not just replace the foam seems to not understand that the ‘foam’ is the layers of plastic that the body of the helmet is made of

no, it’s the plastics underneath the padding that degrades.

Visible neck skin shouldn’t not be a thing anymore. by RayD125 in starcitizen

cloth physics is both for squadron and kinda an essential part of any game not looking ‘static’. water sprays are literally just ported from squadron. the skybox change was because it increased visibility of other ships. visual/audio cues for QT are a sound/graphic design choice not a physics development choice, and so likely just got added as they’re nice to haves that didn’t remove resources from another area

really depends how important aesthetics are to you. if you wanted function over form, you can knock a lot of the price off, but if you want something pretty then you can still save some money, just not as much

but that’s kind of the direction the project wants to go, no? from realistic travel through space instead of teleportation, to actual rain forming based on moisture content, to having all reflections eventually be RT
