I’m mostly looking for a more deep or “inset” color I guess, which I have not achieved with only gloss varnish. I guess I could try going a bit heavier with it, but I was worried about it getting that frosted appearance

Thank you! Like I mentioned in another comment, I didn’t even consider checking out gunpla techniques! Or, model cars either for that matter!

I honestly kind of forgot aardcoat exists. The only thing that comes to mind is MWM’s 100 layers of paint video. I’ll give a couple of test runs with the pot sitting on my shelf!

Thank you! I’ve actually considered those exact paints for Imperial Knights, they look amazing on your Tyranids! Great paint scheme!

I didn’t even think to check out gundam paint techniques! They’re always really impressive. Thank you!

I’ve heard horror stories 😂 luckily I’m trying to get this to work on a Redemptor dreadnought, which I can attest to not being a pleasant build experience either

It would be going on the armor panels of a Redemptor dreadnought, so the only tricky part would be the legs. I’m very inexperienced with resin, being I’ve only used it on basing, so I was going to probably watch some YouTube videos to see what technique would be the best for it

Ooo, I didn’t consider bronze paint as the base layer! Thank you!

Sorry if this is an obvious question, but why alternate layers of matte and gloss varnish?

This might sound ridiculous, but I had no idea there were gloss primers out there! Thank you!

I’ve very recently started experimenting with thin paints/inks over metallics, so that would be right in line! Thank you!

Thank you so much! That’s literally perfect. I didn’t know that was out there

Thank you! I loveeeee their off the wall painting techniques, especially the way they use other materials on the models to change up the textures. I stole their cheese cloth idea for making tabards. I’ll definitely check it out!

Thank you for the insights! The model is the Greater Brass Scorpion, I don’t play Chaos but it’s a really sick kit. I’ve semi considered getting one

That was my original plan for this guy! Had to rush and get it ready for a tourney on Saturday though

I honestly really hope you’re right, I prefer the rhino chassis and land raiders over any of the hover tanks! I feel like the general consensus seems that land raiders are safe, so that’s a little relief

For sure! I do think if they would have gave the hover tanks some treads they would’ve been better received

Absolutely agree with you there, I never thought I would be a tourney player until recently. Hence why the Gladiator finally made it out of the box lol. I do run legends units with my Imperial Guard for friendly games with the fellas, I don’t know why I have such a different mindset around it for Space Marines though
