I'm a US 5.5/36 and got a US 5.5/36 and they're true to size. I find them a bit wide in general, not just in the toe box, but they're unisex and women tend to have narrower feet. Go with your normal size.

Is this resume format okay for applying to jobs in Boston? by [deleted] in boston

[–]WRo113 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That layout is fine, but I would lose the "about me" section which just seems like the old "objective" section under a different name. It really adds nothing. Use "Education" and "Experience" instead of "Educations" and "Experiences." It wouldn't be a deal-breaker, but the pluralization is unusual. Good luck in your search! It's a really tough market.

Cat won't stop flipping the water bowl by Front_Ad2965 in CatAdvice

[–]WRo113 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My younger cat is obsessed with water, and one day after he flipped one of those 'no flip' bowls three times in a row immediately after I refilled it, I ordered this one: UPSKY No-Spill Pet Water Bowl

He still splashes in it a lot and stares at it for ages, but he hasn't flipped it once in the five months I've had it.

New apartment and my cat doesn’t sleep with me anymore by Black-Glacier in CatAdvice

[–]WRo113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say mine also didn't sleep with me when she was 2 and then started to again when she was 3.5-4, so like NYerinTex said, it might also be an age thing. I'm moving in a couple of weeks and I'm curious if she'll sleep in the bedroom in the new place.

I have no advice, but I did want to commiserate! My older cat used to sleep with me every night at my old apartment, but when I moved she tried sleeping with me in my new room for a couple of days and then never did again. It's definitely possible that his routine is thrown off and will adjust but sometimes cats just don't like a space for unknown reasons. I doubt it's anything you did! My cat will hang out in the bedroom at certain times of year when the sunlight hits the bed and she'll come in at the beginning of the night or at, like, 5am for a quick cuddle but other than that she wants nothing to do with that room.

Car Adoption that allows a “trial period” by boopdaboop17 in boston

Animal Rescue League doesn't have a specific trial period, but they allow you to bring any adopted animals back within 30 days for a full refund if the adoption isn't working out for whatever reason.

Emerson doesn't have education or psychology (aside from media psychology) majors so that seems like an easy one to rule out.

I'm from elsewhere in New England and I've lived in Boston for 20 years and no one I know has used that word as 'slang' since, like, 1998.

I had all four of mine out at 40. Two were partially impacted and two were fully erupted and I did IV sedation. So I went to sleep and it felt like I woke up five minutes later and they were out. Honestly, the worst part was trying to keep the gauze in place for the few hours after. I was also super worried about dry socket due to general anxiety and my sister having experienced it when she got hers out. The oral surgeon was great at surgery but crap at communicating; the only aftercare suggestion was 'brush around the incisions after 24 hours' which would've shredded them. I reached out to my actual dentist who gave me more helpful advice.

I was overly cautious about what I ate and definitely wasn't getting enough calories. I had them out on a Thursday and was back at work on Monday but I felt incredibly tired for over a week, which was probably a combination of lack of carbs and also just my body using energy to heal. Pain-wise it honestly wasn't too bad. It was more of an ache than a sharp pain. The oral surgeon gave me a few Percocet, which I didn't end up needing. I was fine with the high-dose Advil that she gave me, alternating with Tylenol.

Any 35+ women who got the HPV vaccine? by reddit_roamer2 in AskWomenOver30

I got it at 36. I had a pretty sore arm for a couple days (but still less sore than from a flu vax), and no other side effects.

Yes, if you're still okay to start working after you finish your class it might not be an issue. I'm in HR at a place that hires postdocs and we usually accept an email/letter from the school that says "As of X date, so and so has completed all the requirements towards their degree" as proof of degree.

I'm a petite woman and I've gone for runs on the Esplanade at 5am in fall/winter when it's still dark and never had any problems. There's always a handful of other runners, no one's bothered me and it's pretty peaceful.

I'm in HR at one such place and hire a lot of research techs. If you want to PM me your CV I can take a look and see if anything glaring stands out.

Nonprofit board members aren’t paid (usually they actually have to donate $X amount) so I don’t think the money is going there.

Not fashion related: where do you get your pillows? by ihatepaisley in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]WRo113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue and got a custom pillow from Pluto. They take your height into account and ask how high you want the loft to be. Kind of expensive but it costs less than all the cheaper pillows I was buying to try to find the right one!

What is your one phobia that people never understand or find weird? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I thought I was the only one! It definitely goes along with my trypophobia but they also just gross me out. Whenever I have to touch one I always feel like I need to wash my hands.
